Good filter for the price

The filter works well with my Nikon 55-300m lens. Does what it needs to and protects my lens. Has the option of attaching polarisers and ND filters as well without having to remove the UV filter. A must for lenses to protect the lens against accidental scratches, dust and fingerprints. Good build quality.

Best filter on the market for a mid range DSLR

You could go ahead and buy a premium UV filter for 4 times the cost but frankly its not worth it. This filter is so clear that it took me a minute to figure out there was a piece of glass on the metal ring. Yeah the ring isn't flimsy plastic but appears to be metallic or porcelain sort. It make quite a bit difference to my pictures especially on early morning foggy days. Don't expect it to miraculously make it vanish though. Its good enough for EF-S lens as other pricier but better UV filters will cost you 1/4 th the lens's cost .

Good quality filter

It is a wise initial investment and protects your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. It is multicoated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

Good choice for digital photography
If desired it can be left on the lens at all times for protection.

It does the job of not interfering with image quality fairly well, provided you're using it in a well lit environment.

Kenko manufactures good quality filters, this MC UV filter is a glass element, unlike some other manufacturers who provide plastic element. It fitted onto my lens smoothly. Lens cap also fitting onto it properly. No issues noticed in photographs at all, it's a nice one.

Offers good protection.


This nicely protects the front element ( glass ) of the lens against dust etc and also if u bump it onto something, u'll just have to replace the filter instead of the whole lens. I did NOT notice any difference in the image quality getting bad or anything of that kind with this filter. It may sometimes result in ghosting or color fringing but thats ok as i personally don't think it matter much or affects the picture in a huge way unless you are a pro.

Sub-standard Product.

Since i own both, i would say that as compared to UV filters manufactured by HOYA (10% costlier than KENKO), this KENKO filter is very poor in terms of quality.

Not value for money

Hi,

I purchased this for my Nikkor 55-300 VR lens bit dissapointed by the results. Flipkart asusual is excellent in their service nothing to say about it. If yoou are looking good UV filters go for Hoya which is reasonably good. I am telling this because i have Hoya also but let me tell you it does its job pretty well.
