Good filter for the price

The filter works well with my Nikon 55-300m lens. Does what it needs to and protects my lens. Has the option of attaching polarisers and ND filters as well without having to remove the UV filter. A must for lenses to protect the lens against accidental scratches, dust and fingerprints. Good build quality.

Best filter on the market for a mid range DSLR

You could go ahead and buy a premium UV filter for 4 times the cost but frankly its not worth it. This filter is so clear that it took me a minute to figure out there was a piece of glass on the metal ring. Yeah the ring isn't flimsy plastic but appears to be metallic or porcelain sort. It make quite a bit difference to my pictures especially on early morning foggy days. Don't expect it to miraculously make it vanish though. Its good enough for EF-S lens as other pricier but better UV filters will cost you 1/4 th the lens's cost .

Good quality filter

It is a wise initial investment and protects your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. It is multicoated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

Good choice for digital photography
If desired it can be left on the lens at all times for protection.

It does the job of not interfering with image quality fairly well, provided you're using it in a well lit environment.
In low light, it's another story: when doing street photography at night, I very often get some annoying green flare from the street lig...

Flipkart as usual was awesome regarding delivery and packing.. Kudos to flipkart!!

Love your lens, then its a must :)

Kenko 58mm UV filter is awesome and the price is not much when compared to other filters in the market.

Advantages:

UV filters protects the glass on your lens from scratching
If sand/mud is blowing the filter will stop it from sticking to the glass
The filter can be removed and cleaned quickly and easily
The filter often helps weatherproof the lens (on the Nikon DX series for example)

Disadvantages:

Sometimes glare from the sun can spoil your images
Adding filters can cause a vignette to appear on your photos.
It might stop you from being able to use a lens hood

Offers good protection.

This nicely protects the front element ( glass ) of the lens against dust etc and also if u bump it onto something, u'll just have to replace the filter instead of the whole lens. I did NOT notice any difference in the image quality getting bad or anything of that kind with this filter. It may sometimes result in ghosting or color fringing but thats ok as i personally don't think it matter much or affects the picture in a huge way unless you are a pro.

I hesitated a bit before buying this as it was saying "UV filter" because all i wanted was protection but don't worry this does n...

I hesitated a bit before buying this as it was saying "UV filter" because all i wanted was protection but don't worry this does not affect the images and protects the lens, it also allows my nikon lens cap to fit on there ( yeah u gotta put it on a bit carefully as the cap can touch the filter glass but at the end i manage to get my cap on there)

Overall a great product. I would recommend it to anyone who wants protection for their lenses

P.S. I also got a same 52mm filter for my kit lens. There is no difference other than its size of-course.
