Kit Carson: Mountain Man

This new series of biographies chronicles the lives of the most significant people of the westward expansion movement of American history. They relate the subjects top the political activity of the time and provide a sense of the era in which they lived, including contemporary lifestyles, beliefs, and customs. Historical photographs, maps, time lines, and illustrations enhance the readers' experience. This series explores and supports the standards "Era 4: Expansion and Reform (1801-1861)," and "Era 5: Civil War and Reconstruction (1850-1877)," as required by the National Standards for History.
