Life's truth!

With a backdrop of Taliban ruled Afganistan, the story is set up in Kabul and partly in America, of two little boys-one a royal Pashtun blood-Amir and the other a mere Hazara- Hassan. The story is of their lives, their friendship, separation, guilt, truths and secrets. The story goes to tell you how one coward decision darkens the future, how one lie erects boundaries, how distances crush relationships, how love never loses faith, how life becomes cheap, how killing a human being under the name of religion and God’s wish becomes passion, how one’s caste becomes one’s reason of death…how just one

Superb book to understand Afghans

This book is a masterpiece and helps the readers to understand the psychology of Afghan people. I don't think this book can be written in any other better way. In fact this book is a mirror to humanity and looks like an autobiography of Khalid

Story of Redemption

Sometimes we make irrevocable mistakes, later only to find out that, those will daunt us our whole life. We live on with that regret and sleepless nights. But we also get our chances to make a redemption. It's all about how we use those chances to overcome from our past mistakes. Kite Runner is the story of redemption, it's a great story and well narrated, with some deep emotion incidents. The Author has narrated the story on the backdrop of Afghanistan. I like the book very much. I didn't miss reading a single line. It's a must read for book lovers.

Lovely !

Reading Khaled Hosseini's Kite Runner was an experience in itself. I felt as if was actually running through the dusty lanes of kabul, tasting naan and shorba, and targeting mulberries with my slingshot. This book will take you in afghanistan where you can see, feel and smell the pre-1980 afghanistan. His simple HighSchool english makes for a very good and clear read. He employs images which are devastating and real. You may end up crying for Hassan and Amir.

Touch a cord

This is one the very beautifully written books I have ever read.
The way the author presents in front of us the relationship between two young kids, the purity of heart of one and the guilt concsience mind of another will move you to tears. You will be left pondering over what happens in the book long after you have finished reading it and thinking if you would have done the same or otherwise. Highly recommended for all book lovers!

The Kite Runner Review

This is a purchase I'll always treasure. It's a precious gift from a writer to his readers.

This book has stains of every emotion known to human race. There is a loud cry of hungry love that will haunt you throughout.

Baba comes alive when he tells Amir that the greatest and only sin is Theft. Alcohol is just about fine.

Hasan is an extraordinary and angelic imagination of a brilliant writer.

Amir jan. He is both black and white. You can argue & fight with him, relate to him, play with him, spend a lifetime with him, love him but you can never sympathize with him.

Unforgettable plot, novel leaves readers speechless...

Khaled Hosseini's writing style has the right quality and quantity of adhesive to hold the readers in the course of the novel...
The way he describes the characters and weaves the plot is extraordinary.
The best part about the writing style is that he doesn't describe an event directly but forces the readers to deduce it. The comparisons he give and the way he relates one part of the novel with the earlier and later parts is exceptional....
A must read and is worth the purchase.....

worthless book

after reading this book,it seems that the author has simply copied writing styles of booker prize winners, he has over used abuses and descriptions to make it over realistic
the writer is simply attention hungry.and a wannabe booker winner
i would recommend people to go through this book and decide for themselves.
such a novel does not deserve to be published, but due to the sympathetic description of Afghanistan mainly this book has picked up.
