La Oreja De Van Gogh

This book of poetry muses on the concept of art and the artist Vincent Van Gogh. In Spanish language.

Art is pure thought / a fairy jumping a cascade... Van Gogh4s ear, / ear of the world, / listens to my thoughts / returns them in waves, / of water and stone." Carlos Wetzler, poignant word surgeon is not only stone in water but illuminated scalpel vivifying the wave sound of conscience. In an abysmally deep monologue he wears alphabetical symbols down to their essence. He swirls them, repeats them, savors their acid and caramel flavors. He weighs their density in their apparent lightness, he strikes and exhales the into ether as doubt, anxiety and hope "into the dark center of the universe: two eyes... It was not my voice, / but another voice, / that said (spoke)" And words take up their room conforming the poem. "Poem / is the white cat / Hansel and gretel rode / to flee over the lake / to go away" To flee from the nihilistic facilism of believing ourselves center an to undestand that: "My head, your head, the other man's head. Lockead in / a tear screams / screams herself / breathless... Between laugh / and laugh man / receives death by water..." No doubt, the great poet in Carlos Wetzler constantly risks himself at the water game though it may entail the pain of knowing himself at the edge of the suspected answer. The pain of acknowledging "There is no wall bu the threshold. / Beauty and depth / lie in the obvious / in the most obvious." "Van Gogh's Ear," a gift of conceptual synthesis, a gift of true poetry. A gift at wich Argentine literature smiles in satisfaction.
