Beneath the starched lab coats and disinfected order of every research laboratory, dark passions lie It is the millennium year and David Jones is a PhD student working in the London research laboratory of the tyrannical Professor Horatio Bainbridge FRS. David's experiments are about as unsuccessful as his attempts to get a girlfriend. When the voluptuous Russian postdoc Natasha arrives in the lab, he predictably becomes infatuated, but Natasha is not all that she seems Meanwhile, Bainbridge's rival, Professor Harold Krenske, is publishing a paper which contradicts Bainbridge's research and may make his lifelong dream of winning the Nobel Prize impossible. As the drama unfolds and dark portents of death appear, David and his drinking pal, postdoc Chuck, soon discover that they have seriously underestimated Bainbridge's insanity and megalomania
