About the Author
Stanley G Christensen has held senior positions in large shipowning organizations both in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. These positions have ranged from company board member, technical director, chief superintendent, and senior superintendent engineer; during this time he has been responsible for the design of many different classes of motorship.

He was formerly Professor in the Department of Engineering at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York and is now a consulting marine engineer.
