Lee Connor, the charismatic owner of Connor Honeycutt, takes little interest in the day-to-day management of his clients' investment portfolios, preferring to enjoy the spoils of a successful career as a money manager.
The mystery begins when Cassie, the head stock trader at the money management firm, discovers and office colleague brutally murdered. She meets District of Columbia Homicide Detective, John Doolin, when he is assigned to the investigation.
Suspects swirl around the case, as a senior portfolio manager has suddenly gone missing, and the remaining three managers all have hidden agendas and secrets to protect. But everyone of them neglects to mention to Detective Doolin, the other employee on the payroll, Lee's mysterious friend Mac Tyler --a rough-edged Irishman whose work assignments seem unusual-- to say the least.
The first of the Cassie Doolin mystery series, Land of the Blind unfolds with the violent death of Gregg Hudson, then the disappearance of Reed Crowley, followed by the discovery of a mysterious note that could suggest IRA involvement at the firm.
