nice mobile

This phone is sleekly built, very stylish as per me, for just by holding it I know I am holding on to a really powerful phone. It is somewhat large in its size, mostly because it has a 5-inch display. The touch panel is very responsive, and there are soft buttons for almost all features of this phone. I will recommend that you keep it locked when not using, for you won’t like to call up someone without you knowing about it.

As I said the display screen is 5-inches. Because it is capacitive in nature, it allows me to give multi-touch commands on it without any hassle. I can also pinch into it to zoom in or zoom out of a picture. The screen’s resolution is also very bright and everything on it can be seen clearly without any pixel breaks that usually happen in several phones.

Its battery backup is also good. I mostly charge this phone after a couple of days only, and till then it does not look like in need of it too. A really impressive interface, features, price and a wonderful phone to top them all!

A quick review for Lava 505

I have often seen that people do no regard the mobiles from new entrants, especially the ones that are from Indian divisions as that good. While it’s true that one just cannot trust a phone based upon the lucrative things that are shown in ads, but forming up a negative impression for all of them forever is also not a right thing to do. My purchase of Lava Iris 505 is just an example, for ever since I have bought this phone, I have always been proud of my decision to have trusted this company with my money.

Let me give you a quick review of this dual sim phone, and how buying this or any other phone similar to this from “not-so-popular-firm” could be a really good idea for you. I myself bought this phone after weeks of research, and could find no other phone, which could make this phone look inferior to it.
Look and Feel
This phone has a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen. I can navigate well on its surface, and can even give my command without even touching the screen at all, by just sliding my finger from over it. This function though is not good for use with all applications, but a lot of them such as clicking pictures, playing music and a couple more can be used effectively with it. It also has 3.5mm jack, which is one of the first things I always look for in a phone.
OS and Software
OS is again something I am quite particular about. This phone runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), which is the latest one, and when I checked with a couple more, there is no other model that comes with it at this price tag and with all the features that are included in it. Its 512MB RAM and 1.2GHz Dual Core processor makes its processing really really smooth. It also has 4GB of internal storage and this can be extended to 3GB with external memory card.
Camera
People who love their phone to be completely sophisticated may find issues with its 5MP primary camera. This indeed is not as good as the ones that come with similar phones from other brands, but you just cannot expect a phone to have just about everything perfect, and it is the camera that is somewhat compromised in this phone. I for myself believe in keeping this feature at lower priority than other features, and so for me it’s very decent. There is a secondary VGA camera too for video calling. Then there some new age features as well, such as panorama, face/smile detector, LED flash, 99 shot continuous feature, and much more.
Connectivity
All the amazing features of a smartphone, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, Edge and more are there in this phone too. The experience becomes better when you use these on its bigger-sized screen, and that’s what I have been experiencing for a number of days now. It couldn’t have been any better!
Battery
Expect to get 5 hours of 2G talk-time and about 4 hours of 3G talk-time on this phone.
Summarizing
All in all, this is just the kind of phone that I had wanted, and the only reason I am writing this review is because I love it way too much. Try this phone yourself, and feel the difference!

It's worth the money!

I have been using the phone for the last 2 weeks now and am quite happy with its overall performance. When I was looking for a new phone, I wanted to get the Android experience (yes, this is my first Android phone!), a big screen, wifi, 3G, and the rest of the normal requirements - I think I have met with almost all the requirements here and I am quite happy with it. Bearing in mind that it's priced below 10k (I bought it for 9k from a local dealer, not Flipkart - it doesn't have the service in my small town), I think the performance is decent enough. I am not too much of a cam guy, so i... ()

I am not too much of a cam guy, so it doesn't matter to me if the cam is okay or even poor. I am happy with a decent quality image, which I think this phone is able to produce. The only flip side I found is that battery performance is quite poor (you got to charge every day).

There is a reverse tethering option given in this phone, but I wasn't able to connect it with my PC broadband with USB cord. I tried looking for a solution and realized that I might have to interfere with the core programming in which case the warranty becomes void, so I stopped fiddling. However, I am not sure if I did everything correctly, I am not a geeky kind of a guy, plus this being my first android experience, I am still getting around some of the things. Otherwise, I am happy with the overall experience.

Affordable and powerful phone

There was just one reason behind my purchase of Lava Iris 505, and that was its affordability. This phone offers so much in so little that I just could not keep myself away from buying it. Let me give some highlights of this phone that actually make this phone a worthy buy for all.

Appearance

This phone is sleekly built, very stylish as per me, for just by holding it I know I am holding on to a really powerful phone. It is somewhat large in its size, mostly because it has a 5-inch display. The touch panel is very responsive, and there are soft buttons for almost all features of this phone...

Display Screen

As I said the display screen is 5-inches. Because it is capacitive in nature, it allows me to give multi-touch commands on it without any hassle. I can also pinch into it to zoom in or zoom out of a picture. The screen’s resolution is also very bright and everything on it can be seen clearly without any pixel breaks that usually happen in several phones.

Memory Concentration

Lava Iris 505 has 512MB RAM, which is not the best for such kind of phone, but given its configuration this works pretty smoothly on this phone. Its ROM size is of 4GB, out of which almost 2GB is the internal memory. 32GB external card can be inserted into it additionally. I have moved my games on this external memory, which has boosted phone’s functionality greatly.

Other Features

It has Android Jelly Bean operating system, which itself tells just how much advanced this phone can be expected to be. Its dual core 1.2GHz processor so far has ensured that I don’t experience any lag issues, and so far it has been a really impressive experience for me. It also has gesture control for its screen, which is a bit complex in beginning to understand, but it actually works, letting me use the phone without even touching it directly!

Its battery backup is also good. I mostly charge this phone after a couple of days only, and till then it does not look like in need of it too. A really impressive interface, features, price and a wonderful phone to top them all!

Steal of a deal for me!

The Lava Iris 505 is a steal of a phone at less than 10,000 rupees in which you also get tons of entertaining features. The processor on this phone is dual core at 1.2GHz and is powered by version 4.2 of the Android. Playing games on this phone is fantastic solely for the life like quality of the 5 inch display screen. That’s because of its awesome 480x854 pixel resolution and capacity to showcase 16 million colours. The sound quality of this phone is also pretty decent and music and voice over the loudspeaker doesn’t sound like its coming from a broken radio. I was sold the first time... ()

The camera on this phone is awesome and totally entertaining because one can click amazing panoramic shots. Other camera features like face and smile detection also makes it really easy to click clear and focused pictures. All in all an amazing phone to have!

Very good mobile

I bought Lava Iris 505 last October on Flipkart. Seeing its low price, I thought it would be like micromax and would not last long. But I was wrong! I was pleasantly surprised to see that it has good screen clarity and battery is superb. My colleagues initially mistook it for Galaxy s4.
