The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Vol. 1 (English, Paperback, MOORE ALAN)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a graphic novel series which tells the story of several people ripped right out of some of the most famous stories, from Captain Nemo to Dr. Jekyll so that they can battle the aliens from H. G. Wells's The War of the Worlds.
Summary of the Book
In 1898, Mina Harker receives a call from Campion Bond, to help the British Intelligence, to assemble a team of extraordinary men to safeguard the British Empire. The team comprises of some of the strangest characters out of the most memorable stories ever known. Captain Nemo, Allan Quatermain, Dr. Jekyll and Hawley Griffin, The Invisible Man must come together to stop the gang-war between Fu Manchu and Professor Moriarty. Their team will help save the world in the moment of its greatest need, when aliens come to attack it. But can such an unlikely partnership really help the world? For as extraordinary as these men are, they have nothing in common, and perhaps even their interests are in no real alignment. But if they cannot work together, they will find that there won't be a world to conquer any more. A masterpiece from the creator of Watchmen and V For Vendetta, this story will enchant readers and drag them into a Victorian London so familiar yet so unreal.
