Hard to get it working in Ubuntu. Here is the solution.
Please understand that the documentation provided in the driver CD is very clumsy. Please follow the below instructions for getting it working on an Ubuntu 12.04 machine (probably the method is similar for other Ubuntu versions too).
First do this:
sudo apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-generic git
Now use
$ lsusb
in terminal and findout the entry which looks like this:

Awesome Product.
Recently my LAN hardware got damaged and I was not able to connect to internet from my computer although I had a connection. Took my CPU to various stores for repair but was of no use. I thought that transmission though wire is always faster than transmission through air. Also seeing the bad reviews of wireless adapters, I refrained from purchasing them. I bought this on Flipkart, but, from a store called 3G-Suvidha. Their shipping was decent, but, the packaging was very simple: in two envelopes.

nice product
- this was a good replacement to my inbuilt wifi card of the laptop which eventually stopped working.
- signal strength is the same as inbuilt card
- WORKS ONLY IN WINDOWS 7.... windows 8 user please avoid. doesnt support.
