Summary Of The Book
With the expanding horizon of digital technology, there is also an increasing need for software professionals with a good command of a variety of programming languages. The C language is one of the basic skill sets in a programmer’s portfolio.
There has been an explosion in the number of programming languages and different development platforms. However, the C programming language has retained its popularity across the decades.
Let Us C is a great resource from which one can learn C programming. It does not assume any previous knowledge of C or even the basics of programming. It covers everything from basic programming concepts and fundamental C programming constructs.
The book explains basic concepts like data types and control structures, decision control structure and loops, creating functions and using the standard C library. It also covers C preprocessor directives, handling strings, and error handling.
It also discusses C programming under different environments like Windows and Linux. The book uses a lot of programming examples to help the reader gain a deeper understanding of the various C features.
This book also aims to help prepare readers not just for the theoretical exams, but also the practical ones. It builds their C programming skills. It also helps in getting through job interviews. There is a separate section in the book that discusses the most Frequently Asked Questions in job interviews.

This book will ruin your understanding, not recommended at allThis book is followed by most of the engineering students (specially big hit in non-premier colleges) in our country. The reasons may be many: written by an IITian, having lots of code samples (most even dont compile on various compilers) etc etc. But I have found this book really a joke!!

avoid at all cost, even if your college prescribes it!I don't understand why this book is so hugely popular! Its highly harmful if you want to sustain a career in IT.

Avoid! At first glance it appears to be a standard book. However, if read feels like bullshit. This book in particular is out-dated, overly simplistic, and not as comprehensive as other books.

Melody of Love & WonderI started my programming career with BASIC and after learning about 10 programming languages I still remember the wonder of those days while I was reading 'Let Us C'. I loved it and got a deep realization of how to write a good book. No matter which technology you use or which coding style you follow, there is always something beyond it and that is the ability of writing a captivating textbook.

Read this book 11 years agoI remember the 4th edition of this book that I have purchased around 11 years ago and started my programming and still I dare to give the review today. At that time I was a lay person to computers and programming. Believe me I was able to start with computers and programming on all my own. I also studied the 5th edition of the book later.

If u know what is i++; then don't buy this book!I read this book in my first year of B.Tech; and since then developed a repulsion for this. It may teach you basic concepts in C; but do not expect to understand complex topics like pointers.

never a book for beginnersThe book might be good for experienced C programmer especially for the purpose of cracking objective questions. It really helps refining the basic details of C language e.g. operator precedence etc. . However, the newbies might never want it to have it as his/her first book. For the first reading the following book is advised :

Sincere Advise! Please read this before Buying!!This book is an extremely crude treatment of C language delivered in the most ugly fashion imaginable with codes that run only in Turbo C(1991). Do not buy this. You will finish the boo k and think you have learnt many things but the reality is that you will not be able to write a single line of code in real Application Development. If you really want to learn C in most proffessional way follow Schildt C The Complete Reference. TRUST ME I HAVE READ BOTH and a lot more on the subject.

NOT FOR BEGINNERSI have bought it recently, packing is good and it is delivered in 2 days. Coming to the book the price is reasonable, but the book is not for beginners. If u r learning the programming language for first time,it doesn't suits u.so better go for Balagurswamy it's the book for absolute beginners.
