LG 42 Inches 3D Full HD LED 42LW5700 Television

I have purchased the product from Bengaluru one month back.

The TV is very user friendly and comes with bundles of features. My experience with its 3D viewing is nice as it can be viewed from wide range of angles. Pictures are vivid and flicker-free with great contrast ratio at such price tag. The passive glasses supplied with the TV are very light and comfortable during prolonged viewing time.

My overall experience with the product says, it worth value for money.

Thanks to flipkart for supplying Magic Motion Remote Control along with the product, whereas it was not listed in "LG Supplied Accessories List" of LG portal.

I will say, "BUY IT, ENJOY IT."

I bought this tv 2 weeks ago. I had checked many models before checking this one, Hence I was very much sure I wanted to buy this awesome machine. I decided to write the review after using almost every feature of this TV.

Pros.
1. Extremely comfortable 3D viewing due to passive 3D technology which allows you to have flicker free, light weight comfortable glasses. 4 of those glasses are included with the TV. which saves upto 10k on active 3d glasses. (No charging needed for passive 3d glasses)

2. Very beautiful LED IPS panel ... IPS panels are much better than normal LED ones as they provide more protection and better clarity.

3. Picture quality for SD channels thru videocon DTS is above average and HD quality is really good.

4. Smart TV features include web browsing, Facebook, youtube etc. This really can help you if u wanna watch 3d or HD youtube videos.

5. 4 HDMI ports can help you to connect your DVD, PS3, Ipad etc to view HD movies or Play HD 3D games easily.

6. Magic remote makes it easy and stylish to access basic controls of TV. NO nonsense remote it is!

7. You can connect NTFS or FAT external HDD. Plays almost all the formats available.

8. Overall features and aesthetics are really commendable..

9. If bargained, you could get this TV for almost 71K at this point of time.

Cons.:

1. Like all LG and samsung smart TVs, This one also doesnt play DTS audio which would make some MKV files unusable. But you can easily overcome this by using media converters.

2. You will get too addicted to TV after watching this one. Reminded me the days of DD1 and DD metro when everything on tv looked spectacular and worth watching.. Be it a lousy serial or even an advertisement...

Verdict: If you are looking for a 3D tv, close your eyes and choose this one !!! :-) worth every Rupee you would spend !! Good luck

I purchased this TV 4 months ago, So I have good feel for it now.
Buying it at Flipkart was a pleasure, complete hassle-free delivery/installation. When I bought this TV Flipkart price was 12K lesser than the local showrooms in bangalore.

As for the TV review:
PROS:
1. Really good LCD/LED panel, good contrast, really bright.
2. 2D-3D conversion for HD content is really nice. Watched Jodha-Akbar in 3D :-), was a nice experience.
3. 3D playback is much better with the passive 3D as compared to active 3D from Sony/Samsung.
4. Plays nearly all formats of video flawlessly(xvid, mkv,
h.264).
5. DLNA support is nice. It plays videos from your PC, when connected to the LAN. Nero media center is bundled with the TV.
6. Because its DLNA enabled, you can use android apps like iMediaShare, Playto etc to stream online content to TV directly. LG Also provides an android app that works like a remote control for the TV.
7. Magic remote works pretty nicely.

CONS:
1. The smart function is pretty useless. The apps like you-tube takes ages to load. The user-interface for the youtube app is pathetic.It has "abcd" keyboard instead of "qwerty" and so on.
2. It has 2 USB ports, but one is taken up by the magic-remote receiver. :(
3. The DLNA user interface is again not polished. It does not show the full names of the videos. The names of the video marquee.
4. The Magic-Remote, though it works pretty well, its shape is crappy, like a shampoo bottle. Never stays in one place, keeps rolling around.

Overall:
I really like the TV. None of the CONS are major enough that you should deter from buying this TV. Only thing I wished was this TV's Smart function was smoother/better.

I was not expecting a Single Star Rating for this LG TV.
Well I was one of the earlier buyer of this technology 3D LED TV..

One fine day while watching TV, the panel switched off after dangling for couple of seconds.
The service engineer says it would cost be 31000 rupees to replace the part..almost half of the price that I paid for the TV.

Question is Longivity of the TV...If the TV can fail in 1.5 years, just over the warranty period..
I doubt if the technology is working for LG or not...

Is it ONLY my case? God knows...You should watch what others say..how the TV is enduring over a period of time..1.5 years..
Until then I was enjoying the TV pretty much including watching 3D movies.

wow. before buying this TV all I had was a 15 inch CRT monitor with TV tuner. I was planning to buy a 3D tv since an year now. I first got my eye on this TV in IT Fair, Singapore and boy was I stunned with 3D quality of this TV. Although, Its not the best money could buy, its certainly is the best among its peers in similar range.
I ordered it with Sony PS3 and I have only one thing to say, Life does get better!
Flipkart did an amazing job here too. Received it within 3 days and LG guys set it up the very next day.
