LG DV622 DVD Player

Apart from other players in this price range this player has Divx (device can read avi files), which scores extra points. Rest it has all the features that other DVD players have in this price range.

The remote is so cute and small, I loved it.

I would be upgrading to a AV Receiver/HT system in near future. So just wanted to buy a cheap DVD player for the time being which will play most media/disks. This player definitely serves my purpose. It can also read subtitle (.srt) files automatically while playing media files which is a nice feature. An HDMI output would have been nice. Also the lack of a LED display may seem disadvantageous. The only problem I am facing is the power button which is kind of hard to push. But other than that there is really nothing to complain at this price.

Issue I have noticed with this model of player I purchased from Flipkart:
1. There is a background noise from the player while playing DVDs.
2. Manual mentions that it supports only USB 1.1 pen-drives though it supports USB 2.0 (high speed) pen drive as well.
3. The menu for pen-drive is not good/easy to understand.
4. When the DVD tray is loaded, playing from USB pen drive does not work.
5. LG DVD player hangs when it encounters a format it does not understand. This is unexpected and only way to bring it out of hang is to switch OFF/ON the player.
This is very different from other brand players where DVD player reports "unsupported format".

I wanted to have USB player which can play torrents. Searched and compared among Philips, Sony, LG. There was only 1 product of LG and many in philips and sony. What I found good was it supports DivX which is mostly supports in Torrents. So I am glad that I have got what u I wanted.
So if any one looking for DVD I suggest to look what kind of format and codecs u wana play.
I find LG as very good for user to get use to and comfort. I suggest all for this... Worth for the money...

I think its the best value for your money. USB performance is great. It doesn't play mp4 files, but given the price it is acceptable. One great advantage is that it plays AVI files quite smoothly without any disturbances to the frame and the audio. No need to convert AVI files into any other format unless it is upto a resolution of 720 x 576p.

In conclusion, it is definitely a good buy & go for it.
