Amazing!

Life of Pi written by Yann Martel is an interesting, engrossing story of Pi Patel who withstood the harsh realities of Life on a makeshift boat.

Details of what he ate and how he kept himself alive sometime makes you wonder if that is humaly possible.

Movie Cast Away will give a better picture for those who are yet to read this brilliant book.

Good Read

I read the book some times back. I loved the book for the amazing narration of the author. The author played with the words so nicely that the entire story becomes prominent in front of our eyes. It`s a great read and a definite page turner.

Easy and well written, ideal for beginners.

A very well written book. But a bit slow at a few places. The good thing is that there are not many of such places and they are followed by extremely good sections. I would recommend this book for those who are just into reading for the language is flowing and the story keep you glued. Enjoyed reading this.

Brilliant Work

I had bought “Life Of Pi” way back in 2010 seeing that it has won the prestigious Man Booker Prize but the other books in my stock kept me busy. One day when I visited a mall, I saw movie posters of the same book which said, “One Boy, One Boat, One Tiger…” and it was that line and hype that compelled me give this book a priority.

“Life Of Pi” is a fable of a Tamil boy named ‘Pi”. His father owns a zoo in Pondicherry (India) but due to some happenstance their family decides to migrate to Cana...

Hope, Belief and Determination

A very well written book. a journey of a 16 year old. Pi's thoughts are clear and well expressed. Its the story of a person who is different from the rest. Should be added as a must read for every 16 year old.

A tale of faith

The Booker prize winning book is a remarkable story of a 16 year old boy shipwrecked in a life-boat with a Bengal tiger for company. He survives for 200 odd days as he transforms himself from a vegetarian to a meat-eater. He also uses all his learnings - from his father and his own experience - on animal psychology - to keep the tiger from eating him!

The book is not however an entertainer as it gets boring in the middle as well as becomes gory when depicting animal violence.

mind blowing tale

'Life of Pi' is a highly entertaining and imaginative story about a sixteen years old boy Pi Patel. The ship in which he was travelling to Canada with his family sinks in the Pacific Ocean. He alone remains a survivor and escapes in a lifeboat but for company he has a zebra, a chimpanzee, a spotted hyena and above all a Royal Bengal Tiger 'Richard Parker'.
