Little Crow Feather

On the verge of manhood, Little Crow Feather must meet the challenge of a Vision Quest in order to claim his position as a man in the tribe and heir to his father, Chief Brave Eagle. Three days and nights he must keep vigil on a mountain without food or shelter, only water to drink and a fire and a blanket to keep him warm. His beloved, Singing Sparrow, waits for him below the spot he has chosen in advance and embroiders his visions on a tunic and moccasins that she is making for him. He sees creation in a whole new way, and learns a great respect for all life, including his own. His visions take him to the edge of the universe and back, and into a meeting with his ancestors. Will what he learns move him deep within his core and change him for the better? Will he be blessed with the presence of a great eagle to act as his spirit guide? And will Little Crow Feather gain a new name?
