Can a kid fall in love and actually mean it? What is the one emotion that has everyone mystified? What is the one emotion that has started as many wars as it has ended? What emotion has had more plays, songs, and stories written about it than anything else? Love comes in so many different levels, that it doesn't appear to be the same emotion at all, but it is. There is so much to love. It can tear people apart and make us do irrational things to bringing together entire continents. What can this emotion not do? It's hard to tell, but there is a lot it can. So many legends surround this emotion, from the goddess of love to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. There's a very thin line between being thrilled and being terrified, when a child falls in love.

Few days back,I was checking out the novels in my regular bookstore and for a change I was looking for a novel by an Indian author. ‘Little LuckNow’ by author Nitya Prakash attracted my attention because of its catchy thoughtful title and a cute kid on its cover page,I went through the back cover, then and there only I was completely intrigued by it but still I didn’t expect this to be as entertaining as it turned out to be and truly novel kept up to my expectations.
This book is a story of a kid Kapil,a jubilant, popular guy of his class who falls in love with his classmate cum best friend Prerna. The blend of school events, an academic struggle and the confusion of what to do next is blended in a very entertaining manner. It’s a story of childhood’s first love, innocence, compassion .It will keep u connected to protagonist’s life till you turn the last page.I would like to congratulate author Nitya Prakash for bringing out the essense of pure love so beautifully without using the obscenity.Though there are few editorial mistakes but the captivating plot, awesome story just made me ignore them and kept me glued to the novel. So I would suggest you to read this book if you are looking for some beautiful ,touchy love story.
I want to mention this book, though I didn’t want to do a regular review. It is a book worth reading. Have you ever read a book that just moved you to tears or leaves you feeling so emotionally exhausted you swear you were right there with the character of the book experiencing everything with them?
I love it when an author can invoke emotions in me with just their words. Little Lucknow is a very interesting insight into the mind of a 14 year-old discovering the beauty and horror of love.
This novel was poignant with a capital P, and I'll never forget it. What hit me the most was the beautiful portrayal of the kid and of course his love story. This book might not be commercially well accepted but it will definitely set good standards in the years to come.
At points readers will be convinced they know the probable ending to the hypothetical continuation of Kapil's character. Nitya Prakash moves beyond obvious expectations to both startle readers and leave them content with the book’s final outcome.
Read this book for three reasons:
1. Its simplicity
2. Innocence
3. Brilliant portrayal of a Kid
It is not for those who like chick lit books. A very mature book on child psychology.
Every once in a while, we all come across a few books that really pierce our hearts and move us. This is one of them. I am rating it 4 because of few typos and editorial mistakes.
First time I had read Nitya Prakash's book and I am very impressed by his writing Style which is unique and simple. The little Lucknow is story of young kid who fall in love with a girl Prerna. The book is very emotional and it touched my heart. Best part of the book is,it can be engoyed by all the generations. the book took me to my school days where we used to be happy and excited to reach next class and wait for the new teachers for the subjects. I really missing my school friends and teachers after reading the book. the clmax really touched my heart it was full of emotions. The story was fresh and one can enjoy reading. as Nitya Prakash Always says "Happy Reading" Its really true for this book as i really enjoyed myself while reading this book.
Good thing about this book is its so light that you can finish it in one sitting, 2-4 hours at most. And worst this thing about this book is you will regret why the hell you spent even these few hours. (Apart from few bucks to Flipkart).
As the story claims, its certainly about a kid (if you call a 8th grader a kid) and his complex thought about a girl in his class. This kid is actually "Shahid Kappor" equivalent of "Ishq-Vishq" who has charm to attract most in school. He is not so studious guy who eventually tops all exams. And he turn out to be an all rounder of all events- footballer, speaker, singer and blahh blahh..
Characters are common- but hardly have enough soul to make you connect to them. I do not remember any surprises. Only thing missing from the whole story is Innocence-- then that's the only thing you look for in a Kid story.
There are just two reasons you can read this-
1. You read everything coming your way.
2. You had liked someone in std 8th.
Previously i thought the book is all about Lucknow City ,but when i went through the whole novel ,it really touched me to the core.Author has written it with the feelings and deep expression, that really impressed me .The language is simple and maintained.I would love to read the next novel of Mr Nitya Prakash.
Thanks alot Sir
