Logitech C310 HD Webcam

The Logitech C310 Webcam is among the better models available. It is ideal for video chatting over Skype or other such software.
Pros:
1)It takes still images with a quality of 5 megapixel, meaning
that it uses 5 million pixels to make the image.
2)It's video quality is 720p, meaning that its picture uses 1280x720 pixels across length and breadth respectively.
3)It has a high frame rate which ensures the video to be smooth. Actions like waving your hand don't cause the picture to blur.
4)The Logitech website says that this camera uses Fluid Crystal Technology which creates a smooth picture and most importantly adjusts the lighting in the video. So, even if you use the webcam in very dim light, it compensates to a great extent.
5)It is plug and play for Windows XP onward meaning that the OS already has the necessary drivers and you'll not be needed to install any drivers; you can just connect it and use it. The CD provided however drivers and Logitech Vid™ which you can use to chat online in HD.
6)It has a long cable and is a USB which is more convinient.
7)It comes with an inbuilt microphone of high sensitivity which can pick up voice from a good 3 to 4 feet and also cuts down background disturbance.

Cons:
1)To make HD video calls, you'll need to have a reasonably good configuration (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB Ram).
2)Most importantly, if you don't have a high speed internet, you won't be able to make best use of the webcam. If you don't have at least 1 Mbps speed, I would really recommend that you go for a lower model since you won't be able to utilize the high resolution. The lower models also have a powerful mic and a good picture quality. They are by no means sub-standard. My uncle has a C110 model which creates very good picture quality and the voice is perfectly audible. This particular model just creates an awesome picture.

Bottom line: The webcam is perfect for HD video calls, comes with a powerful mic apart from other things, but see that your internet and internet of the person at the receiving end are fast enough and your system configuration is good or else you might as well buy a lower model and you won't be able to tell the difference.

First the good: Flipkart delivered the product within a day and excellent packaging. Nice work.

Now the bad: Although the webcam software installs smoothly, I am totally unimpressed by it's quality. I have a reasonably good configuration laptop, and my primary goal to purchase this webcam was to make short ~5 min videos. This webcam does not even record videos for 3 mins. All goes well for 3 mins and then the CPU usage suddenly jumps to 100%, making the laptop, the webcam and the resulting videos totally unusable. Did I mention that this was with 640 resolution? With 720p (HD, as they claim it to be), I can not even consistently record 1 min videos. I am well versed with settings and lighting conditions under which cameras operate, so I am not completely a layman.

The image/video quality is lower than average. The images have flat dull gray tone even in broad day light- in a well lit room- where a low end digital camera or a cell phone records pictures with better quality. Even the manual settings of the cam do not do justice to the images rendered. What to say about the fidelity of the pictures/videos under tube-light/incandescent lamp..

This webcam might be alright for those who do not care for quality imaging, where the purpose is to just see some moving images - like taking to your parents on Skype. But not at all good for someone desiring even slightly better quality.

All communications to Logitech support went unanswered. I purchased it after reading good reviews, but would like to return it if FK takes it back and exchange it with a reasonable cam.

The product was delivered in less than a day's time when I placed the order. This was the first time I tried flipkart, and was overwhelmed with the swift delivery. I would highly recommed this website.

As for the webcam, the video quality and still image quality is great for a home use. The software installation takes time, around 15 mins, but is straight forward. To me, this webcam is value for money. Logitech vid is the software by which you can make HD video calls. I would recommend this product.

I got this awesome product last month. This is intended for home purpose. As usual, the Flipkart service was at its best. I got my product in less than 2 days from my order.

Now about Logitech C310..

1) The setup was like a breeze, easy and hassle-free installation. Just plug and play. I am using it on my Sony VAIO laptop (Win XP).

2) The device mounts steadily and easily on the lid of my Sony VAIO. Its free from any jerk/shake. The device has a green notification light which glows when the webcam is activated.

3) The webcam is easy to use with any video-calling application. Skype just works like a charm with this webcam. No detection issues what-so-ever.

4) The pictures taken by the webcam are of very good quality and it is same as what is put on the papers.

5) We need to have a high-speed broadband internet connection to get the HD quality video. Otherwise, a normal quality video is rendered, which is expected.

On the whole, a great webcam from Logitech at this price range. I am totally satisfied with this product.

I was looking for a webcam for Skype calling which shoots in 720p and has improved image quality compared to the inbuilt cam in my laptop. I considered the C510, but other than increased resolution, couldn't really see much difference for the price.

Pros:
1. Excellent build quality - everything from the plastics, lenses to cable are top notch!
2. Good image quality
3. Shoots in 720p easily (on Core2Duo 2.8Ghz, 2GB RAM)
4. Very easy to setup and use with Skype
5. Good amount of control over image using Logitech software

Cons:
1. The clip mechanism is weird for attaching to the lid of laptop. Even though it is sturdy, it could be improved to grip more. It does not cause any issues while calling if the laptop is on table, but if you move around or hold it in your lap, it can become loose or fall off.
2. No horizontal panning - only goes up or down.
