Summary of the Book

In ages past, the Elves of Eregion were fooled by the Dark Lord Sauron, who gave them the designs to forging Great Rings of Power. However, he held back the knowledge that would allow him to craft a master Ring, the One Ring to Rule Them All. In their ignorance, the Elves gave the Rings to other races as well, allowing Sauron to lay his hand across the whole of Middle-Earth. However, a company of Men and Elves stood against him and wrested the Ring from his finger. Peace was upon the land yet again, but only for a short while. Centuries later, a young hobbit discovers a curious ring as part of his inheritance, and with it, he receives a heavy burden. He must journey to the centre of the Dark Lord Sauron's power, and toss the Ring into the very fires of its creation. However, what chance does he have against the fierce Ring Wraiths?
