It was packed well and safe from any damage when i got it. About the delivery time since my town is not a main metropolis i got it a lil later.
About the product: extendeded version in blu rays plus additional behind the scenes features about how they cast , about tolkien and how they made the film for every part plus the costas botes documentary. If you like the films buy it.
For people who love tolkien watch it first on rent and then buy it only if you like it bcoz it doesn't match upto the books and for purists what Peter Jackson did to the characters of Faramir , Denenthor and Gimli are a travesty.
Overall I liked it though- beautiful high quality movies

2011s best Blu ray trilogy,excellent and majestic,it is a must collect for every LOTR fan.The blu ray version of the three films advance from the DVD version in each and every aspect.Each scene has been specially modified and mastered to look crystal clear and perfect on a HDTV.The colors are perfectly saturated and the black levels are simply brilliant.
As for the audio,the DTS HD MA 6.1 ch audio works wonders on a equivalent home theatre delivering upto 6 mbps of pure digital sound.
The extras are a set of 9 DVDs which include the making of the film,trivia and rare,never-before-seen documentaries.Apart from all this,the blu ray trilogy is excellent is all aspects and is pure reference material.
As for Flipkart,packaging was excellent,the delivery was on time and the deal was great.

If you are a fan of LOTR, this is it, in Blu Ray all parts, extended edition, worth of every penny. If you haven't watched LOTR the best movie ever made IMO buy it and you will watch it at least 50 times:)

Also to mention buying from Flipkart was a good exp overall.

Merlay Samuel, i hope you are reading this, you were the "First to review", and your 'review' was unresearched. This is far different from the Rs. 999 one you speak of. Firstly, they aren't even on flipkart presently, Secondly, that is a DVD set and this is a Blu-ray set and is therefore of far superior quality, Thirdly, this is the Extended version and what you speak of is the shorter (By almost an hour each film), theatrical edition. Lastly, this is a FIFTEEN DISC SET, and the one you speak of is a three disc set at most. Please remove your review and give it the rating it deserves.

This is the best set of LOTR trilogy available in the market. Dont miss it and it is far better than the DVD edition in Picture quality and audio quality.It is also a limited Edition and you can't expect to get it after some period of time.

this movie, without any shadow of a doubt, is the best movie ever made!! a must have collection for all movie-buffs. i've been waiting for this extended edition for ages. good o finally have it in my collection.

First of all a big pat on the back of flipkart for an super-fast delivery. I place an order on 21st September 2011 at 07.59 am and the Box Set is already at my door step on 22nd September 2011 at 12.30pm! Now, that's fast!

The packaging was superb and once done opening it, the box-set inside glowed in magnificence! Neatly packaged this 15 disc (2 Blu-Ray 3 DVDs per movie) set kept me drooling at it for the while.

The video and audio are both crisp quality and the best you are likely to find around anywhere. Each movie is the Extended Edition having more than 3 and a half hour running time.

Those who are confusing this one with the Rs 999 DVD set are sadly misled as this is worth each Rupee spent over it.

So, if you are a Lord of the Rings Fan and possess a Blu-Ray Player and a Home Theater to show-off, then don't waste another second and buy it already!

I bought this, although not from Flipkart but directly from a shop. This is a dream come true for any Lord of the Rings fan. A lavish set with 15 discs (6 BDs and 9 DVDs). The picture quality is to die for, it's full 1080p HD. The audio is awesome, 6.1 DTS sound. The special features are really interesting with 3 new discs with never before seen documentaries. The packing is cool. It has a map of Middle-Earth inside and the print for Fellowship of the Ring is a new one, which has been remastered again. For me, it's a 5 out of 5 buy! Remember, this is not a DVD, it's a Blu-Ray, and please don't insult it by comparing it to a DVD. Blu-Rays are 8 times better! Cheers! :)
