Amazing story. :)

Vishwas Mudagal, is a serial entrepreneur and a CEO. His passion is writing and this is his first novel. He dedicates this novel to entrepreneurs, whom he calls 'beasts'. This book was published by FingerPrint, in 2014. This story is about a young entrepreneur and devoted gamer, Rishi Rai, who's life, which was once successful, crumbles into pieces right before his eyes. One day, when he's down in the dumps, he meets an unpredictable and crazy hipster, Alex, who changes the way Rishi sees life. He travels across India along with Alex with no plans and no obligations. From the snowy peaks of the Himalayas to the intriguing and mysterious village of Malana. From the coastal beaches of Goa and Gokarna to the massive Kumbh Mela. They do it all. Until Rishi meets the beautiful, smart and enigmatic gamer, Kyra. As sparks fly and emotions intertwine, Rishi is inexplicably drawn towards Kyra. But she has a secret and she isn't who she claims to be. What follows next is something nobody ever thought would happen. Something which changes their lives forever.
The author has done an excellent job of writing this novel and has done justice to his characters. The fast paced story line left me craving for more! The characters have been given life through his descriptions. While reading the novel, I felt like I had known the characters all my life! I could not only relate to them but I could actually feel their presence. No, I was not hallucinating. I was just very involved. The places where they visit too have been described very well along with the events which occur there. I would have preferred if the events of the Kumbh Mela had been evolved a little more as it would have provided an in depth essence of Indian culture.
It is an interesting and refreshing novel. The story was so intriguing that in spite of reading it a couple weeks back, the story has stuck with me and will for a long time. I feel that this book appeals to the youth of India. Being Gen-Y, we are witnesses to several technological developments around us that have changed the way we perceive events. It has also changed society and the primitive mindsets of people. This is what the book deals with. Rishi was fed up of being a part of the rat race. Money and fame did not affect him or inspire him. What he sought out for was life. And that's what he got. His journey was an interesting one which is what forms the bases of this novel. The story also deals with the larger issues such as freedom and independence which we crave for. There is the concept of 'fate' or 'karma' which is also dealt with in the story that is brought up in the latter part of the novel.
I loved the story and it is a must read novel. I would recommend it for 'young adults' as the novel deals with several issues which we are affected by and influences us. Losing My Religon is a good contribution to Indian Contemporary literature and I hope Vishwas Mudgal writes more such fantastic novels!
Until next time,

After a long time i came across a book that i could not keep down till i reached the end ! For starters it has an amazing story, an unpredictable end, an ultimate climax and a fresh plot ! You can instantly connect to the characters and you know how Rishi must be feeling when he says that he is losing his religion because we all have been there at some point in our lives.... a few pages down the book you wish you had a friend like Alex and reading the Malana episodes you know its the next destination you want to go to ! Nail biting fast moving

you just can't put the book down with out completing it, it has just so many twists and turns and one of the best debut novels I would say, though the plot looks a bit unrealistic in a general sense you would feel that all that would make sense, in a raw sense it depicts a real scenario and the way to look at the life in a lighter sense, at the same time valuing the human relations, though the language is a bit MODERN I would say, it's still okay in the sense the book is written. Good

Losing My Religion is interesting and addictive. Character delineation is pretty good and direct. The characters are three dimensional. Relationship with various elements in the book is handled decently. The theme is traditional and the author has kept it real.

Intellectual quality of the writing has been simple and clear, which is very good.
Emotional quality could have been improved more by adding humour to it.
