Losing My Virginity and Other Dumb Ideas 1st Edition

my point(s)-of-view after reading the book:

* the author has tried her best to be a chetan bhagat in disguise (well, not-so-well). there is this desperate struggle of the protagonist to portray herself as a foodie (typical C.B. style. and well, seldom men like the women who chew a bone first, and a boner next. pls set it as a reminder while working on your next book. you can count on me. i'm a guy after all...)

* has the kinda humor that no guy under the sun will ever enjoy (but all girls certainly will, i think). instances wherein the characters supposedly "burst into laughter," failed to twist the corners of my mouth upwards- even on the nanometer scale.

* the most irritating aspect was the usage of the "product placement" technique to a ridiculous extent. the only benefit i could see here is that the author being paid handsomely by those brands that she's mentioned quite extravagantly throughout the book. inference: the author has either mugged up those brand names; or she is totally new to them.

* sex in the hot air balloon

I have been awake 2 nights to finish this book!! A tale about modern woman, love, heartbreak and pursing dreams and discovering oneself!! A woman is capable of so much of love and this book had all the elements to describe the new age woman. Madhuri Banerjee I have become a fan of your work... will be looking forward for more from your pen...!!!!!! Cheers :)

Its been whole lot of waste of time in reading this book since I kept on expecting that there would be something interesting to read. In short, its a low-grade book available on road-side shops with a fancy cover.
Please do some useful work instead of reading this book.

I bought this book from flipkart as I wanted to read a love story which has a better understanding of a youth's mind. But the author went into a very deep meaning of love which generally isn't accepted in society (especially in India). Lacks the 'masala' factor but is a good read for people above 25-27 yrs of age.

I would give this book a min of 2.5 and a max of 3 out of 5. Don't buy this book for those one liners which you generally find in Chetan Bhagat.

I bought this book because of its name,thought it would be quirky,funny,and ........lets say i didnt know what to expect as i didnt know who madhuri bhattacharya was, I was pleasantly suprised. The story of a girl who has just crossed her 20s confident,independent professional living alone in mumbai,she is single(as she has been all her life), underconfident about her love life, in search of her perfect soulmate ,whom she would marry and settle down for her life. On her 30 th birthday she realizes her life is heading nowhere like this, she takes some desicions to change this................the story is about those desicions and how the changed the course of her life.A story of self discovery,understanding life,love,relationships.......... after a long time i found a indian writer in proper english.......kudos Madhuri.
