Book: The Lost Symbol
The Lost Symbol is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown's No. 1 international phenomenon with 81 million copies in print worldwide and the UK's biggest selling paperback novel of all time, and it will once again feature Dan Brown's unforgettable protagonist, Robert Langdon. This book's narrative takes place in a 12-hour period, and from the first page, Dan's readers will feel the thrill of discovery as they follow Robert Langdon through a masterful and unexpected new landscape. The Lost Symbol is a brilliant and compelling thriller. Dan Brown's prodigious talent for storytelling, infused with history, codes and intrigue, is on full display in this new book.

'This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey', says Dan Brown himself. 'Weaving five years of research into the story's 12-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon's life clearly moves a lot faster than mine'.
Book Reviews of The Lost Symbol
*A letdown!!
Review by Kritesh
Was waiting for this book to come for a long down.. Even pre-ordered the book on Flipkart. Finally got the book on 16th.. The book was a let down. Most of the things are predictable. Dan Brown incorporates some stuff from his previous books. The ending was stretched and frankly speaking was quite bored at the end of it. Expected much more from one of my favorite authors. ANGELS AND DEMONS still remains my favorite DB novel.
*below average
Review by Praveen
i have liked all 4 of dan brown's previous books. but this one didn't maintain his high standards unfortunately.
*Hell yeah !
Review by Ashrith
Huge letdown ! Books like these are not meant to be predictable damnit ! Elongated sub-stories towards the end, not needed at all. However, the beginning of the book is really dark and gripping. You can sense chills up your spine if you're reading with proper concentration ! 7/10 for this one
*Not so good

I have just completed reading this book, and i agree that it is quite a letdown compared to his previous books. The ending is so boring and prolonged...Damn!!!!
*predictable
Review by ritu
finished the book in 2 whole days...thats how bored i was. sluggish and the narration is repititive with the same phrases being repeated over and over again obviously in a different manner. come on..after having our pulses accelerated with da vinci, slowing down is just not an option. gawdd!!
*No you di'int
Review by Armando
Wow, I can't believe I finally finished that book. Unlike his others, it took discipline. I came close to calling it quits many times during the end. Not at all up to his standards. Oh well. Expect a lot, be willing to be let down.
*Some pace...
Review by Siddharth
The book had a brilliant start and was quite gripping dispite some predictible turns, almost towards the end. The end was disappointing. Apart from the end the rest of the novel was very very interesting...
*not that good

Review by Tim verbunt
Book was good, some nice twists. However the endng was so dIssapointing that I threw my phone down in anger. Grrrr
*A good book, but...
Review by Arindam Moulick
I waited for it since long. I thought it would be a sequel to The Da Vinci Code, but it turned out to be different one. I am not disappointed reading the new book, but it could have been better really. I thought The Da Vinci Code was a perfect 10. The Lost Symbol manages a good 8 perhaps?
*OKaish... an Un Dan Brownish feel to it but :)
Review by Vasu
I completed the book in 3 days cause i couldn't hold on to the book like Da VInci Code and A's & D's. The characters are not so well crafted and seem to hang in space.. they don't stick with you like the characters in Da Vinci.... the narration got more and more predictable towards the end as many readers have observed above. The story line is new though and the reference to the various religions was good.. an eye opener of sorts.. some how driving on the alleged end of the world in 12-12-12 seemed a far desperate stretch!!! The book seemed to struggle to convince the reader of its authenticity in a rote kind of way by repeating certain things over and over again! All in all a 8/10 for the concept and a 6/10 for narration... certainly un dan-brownish!! worth one read....Cheers
*Lost Symbol
Review by Raghu
Terrible non-sense. It was THE lousiest book I ever read in my life. I cannot comprehend the plot and pace at which and an utterly childish way of writing the book

*Lost Interest...!!
Review by Shilp
I wish the author had condensed the book to half it's length... it would have been much better. I don't normally read fiction but after Da Vinci Code (which was brilliant, btw), I wanted to give Dan Brown another go... sadly, he failed to live up to my expectations. Repetitive in style, substance and narration... this book might mark the end of the hype around Dan Brown.
*Research Publication
Review by Barun S
The story appeared to be quite long. And it appeared more like publication of research on Masons. Having read Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code and Digital Fortress, can say that the author writes in a predictable pattern. On the other hand, had a quick tour of Washington. :)
*Dissapointed!
Review by Pushkar Jain
This book is huge letdown. Though gripping in parts, its nowhere close to the standards established by A&D ad Da Vinci. One reason could be that this book has much more technical details compared to its predessors - so it is not as easyly readable as others.

*The Lost Dan Brown
Review by Vipul Grover
Well, cmpleted the book today..
Beginning is good, thn it bcums better nd thn finally it turns sour..
Too mch irrelevant information filled in 500 odd pages. Could have done with lesser suspenses at end of every othr chapter just for the sake of it.
Better than his debut thriller but far behind the next three.
