Love @ Air Force is the story of Sushil Aswathi and Shabd Mishra. The narrator of the story is Sushil. He talks about his friend, Shabd, and his love for a girl they knew as kids.
Summary of the Book
Sushil and Shabd were the best of friends in class eleven and twelve. Shabd had made Sushil realize the value of a true friend. Shabd was in love with a girl called Soumya Maharishi. However, he never found the courage to communicate his feelings with her because his father’s rank in the Air Force was lower than the rank that her father held. Soon, Sushil got recruited by the Air Force and left for training. Shabd joined AFMC, Pune with the intention of being the perfect match for Soumya. However, by the time he passed out, Soumya was already married to an Air Force Officer. Twenty years pass, and they are now in their late thirties. Sushil is married and has two children. Shabd is unmarried and is still hanging on to the memories of Soumya. Sushil and Shabd meet after all these years and have a lot to talk about. When Sushil learns that Shabd is still in love with Soumya, he is worried for him. Shabd uses his influence to somehow get Soumya’s husband transferred to Agra. In the meantime, he intends on confessing to Soumya about his love for her. Will she react in a way that he wants her to?
