Love Story is the heart-rending tale of Oliver Barrett IV, a boy who is all set to graduate from Harvard University and practise law, and Jenny Cavilleri, the witty daughter of a Rhode Island baker and a student of music at Radcliffe College. They hail from two entirely different backgrounds, but fall head-over-heels in love with each other. The story then proceeds to portray their struggle to stay together, and their life as a newly married couple.

One Day is a story of two young graduates, Dexter and Emma. The story begins with their first encounter on the night of their graduation. The book then provides a yearly peek into their lives, for the next 20 years. Dexter starts building his career as a news anchor after traveling around the world, and Emma tries her luck as a playwright. They continue to remain in touch, sharing their personal and professional details, and ultimately realize that they are attracted to each other. Through his book, David Nicholls portrays how people can change with time, and in what ways they still remain the same. 

Erich Segal was born in the year 1937 and was a professor at Yale, Princeton, and Harvard Universities. He was also a screenwriter, educator, and author. Some of his popular books are Oliver’s Story, Fairy Tale, Acts of Faith, Doctors and The Class. David Nicholls was born in 1966, and has worked as a screenwriter and novelist. His other novels include Starter for Ten and The Understudy. After graduating from Bristoll University, Nicholls worked as a minor actor in different theaters, before taking up a career in writing.
