A ~MUST~ FOR ALL FANTASY FICTION LOVERS...

Life outside the village is hard. It is a different world. More than compassion, what must matter is survival. Or else, you will perish. There are evil forces out there, which need to be dealt with harder than a hammer deals with an anvil. Only then, can some innocence survive.

Luwan of Brida is the first book in Inkredia Series by Sarang Mahajan.

From beyond the horizon, come the claws of dusk. Followed by the creature, creeping and crawling. All that is seen, it throws into a shadow. In...

great work in a class of its own

I knew, I had to read this book after I read its summary. This novel is Special. The Map in the book gives you a feeling that you have already stepped into the fantastical world of Inkredia. Luwan of Brida is going to blaze a trail of its own. I am in awe of the Author for he has surely crafted a masterpiece. I love the attention to detail. A very deeply engaging story that will keep you hooked till the end and keeps you wanting for more. The gripping story of Luwan who is forced to embark on...

Great story! reminds me of my grandfather and his bedtime tales.

This is one novel I wished never ended. But it did, and left me aroused and wanting for more. I like Fantasy and reading Sarang Mahajan's novel post Harry Potter era, I started comparing his novel with the Potter saga. A simple orphan boy who does not know how his father died, a 'dark' Lord gunning for him, magical animals, demons, enchanted fortresses and a village magician as his side-kick. But there the similarity ends. While Rowlings' novel is full of magical potions, spells and hordes of...

A pleasant surprise from an Indian author!

I got to read Luwan of Brida because my roommate ordered it through Flipkart. When it got delivered and we opened the box that contained the book, we were thrilled. The book looks really beautiful because of its cover. It was like the book was inviting me, the cover generates curiosity. I am a diehard fan of fantasy stuff so the book was like a treat for me. I grabbed the book and started reading it that very moment, not paying attention to my friend. I really loved the freshness offered by ...

A great book for your collection

This is a story about a young boy named Luwan. The book is very thrilling. Each and every chapter ends with a twist and you have to start reading the next chapter. The story reminds me of the days when I read Eragon and Harry Potter. It is that kind of a book. Very nice descriptions throughout. There are many surprises and they come when you least expect. I loved the action scenes and the characters like Kiliarn very much. The horses were also very nice. What I liked most is that the story do...

An amazing book full of adventures!

When I first laid my hands on Luwan of Brida, I had many ideas regarding what the story might be about, but when I actually read it, I was baffled. It was through and through a very exciting read. The pace at which the story runs kept me glued to the book, moreover the characters were very relevant yet had a unique appeal. The language of the book is its USP, the author’s imagination transforms into reality due to it. I loved the concept of the non humans, these villains are very acceptable. ...

A great read

The book is extremely entertaining. It is a perfect adventure. The story slides you into a pool of fantasy and before you realize you are neck deep into it you have devoured a lot of chapters already. The adventure flows in a beautiful way, exploring not only the country but the heart and soul of the characters. This book is so much more than just a chain of entertaining incidents. It is an experience. I felt Luwanâ??s fears for the life of his sister and his friends. I felt the wonder and am...

Entertaining to the core..

What I really loved about the book is that every character in the book has been drafted really well. The relationship between Luwan and his sister touches your heart. While reading you feel as if you are actually living the adventure. Emotions like fear of the mysterious, panic and distress have been portrayed really well. The language is superb, smooth and fluent, keeps you engaged throughout. The villains are unique, wall-spirits for instance, great imagination I must say. The Ghork riders ...

A superb rollercoaster of adventure

The story starts right away and you cannot stop until you finish the book. Characters are nice. Use of nice imagination can be seen throughout. When I saw the name of an Indian author I was expecting a Indian story, but this is not. I did not mind it. Readers who like western fantasy novels will like this one. The book does have some elements in common with other adventure travel books, but nothing you can pinpoint to a certain book. And the book has its own unique surprises. A well written a...

A Fantastical Joy Ride!!!

Awesome Read! It made me stay up all night and forced me to read from cover to cover! Totally gripping and just the Right pace for the story-line, to let the reader imagine the scenes! What forests and villains to created from its framework!!! It didnâ??t let me concentrate even on my Work! ;-) [;-)]
To start with what struck me the most... Beautiful character building, for the Protagonist Luwan. Not too weak, not to strong... Has the necessary pre-requisites like Lineage and inheritances (th...
