What is the estimated delivery time?
Estimated delivery time depends on the following factors:
It is possible that the Seller or our courier partners observe a holiday between the day you placed your order and the date of delivery, which is based on the timelines shown on the product page. In this case, we add a day to the estimated date. Some courier partners and Sellers do not work on Sundays and this is factored in to the delivery dates.
For items listed as "In Stock", Sellers will mention the delivery time based on your location pincode (usually 2-3 business days, 4-5 business days or 4-6 business days in areas where standard courier service is available). For other areas, orders will be sent by Registered Post through the Indian Postal Service which may take 1-2 weeks depending on the location.
The Seller might not have the item in stock but can procure it when an order is placed. The delivery time will depend on the estimated procurement time and the estimated shipping time to your location.
'Preorder' or 'Forthcoming'
Such items are expected to be released soon and can be pre-booked for you. The item will be shipped to you on the day of it's official release launch and will reach you in 2 to 6 business days. Malgudi Days is a novel that revolves around the happenings in a small fictional village named Malgudi, which is located on the banks of the river Sarayu in South India. This book is a collection of 32 short stories that are highly amusing. The remarkable feature of the stories present in this book is that they are all centered around the lives of mere commoners as they go about their daily routine. The stories present in this book mostly revolve around the relationships among family members as well as the social taboos in the mid-nineties.
Through the course of this book, readers are introduced to a ten-year-old lad named Swaminathan, and his two closest friends, Mani and Rajam, whose fun-filled exploits provide a great deal of entertainment to the readers. In another story in this book, Chandran, whose apprehensions about life and issues related to love provide for an interesting read. One of the stories in this book entitled The English Teacher, revolves around incidents in the life of Jagan, and his son Mali. Along with providing the readers with an interesting story, the author also highlights the problem of the generation gap between parents and children.
While some of the stories may keep the readers in splits of laughter, certain stories may actually cause the reader to cry, as they establish a connection between themselves and the reader. The stories present in Malgudi Days are highly thought-provoking, and make for a good read for individuals of all age groups. Malgudi Days was published for the first time in the year 1943 by Indian Thought Publications. Put together with a great deal of humor and grace, this classic piece of literature by R. K. R. K. Narayan was a renowned writer from India.
Apart from this book, Narayan has written several other books, and some of them include An Astrologer’s Day And Other Stories, The Man-Eater of Malgudi, The Emerald Route, The Financial Expert, A Horse and Two Goats, The Vendor Of Sweets, and The Grandmother’s Tale And Selected Stories.
He was born on the 10th of October, 1906, in Madras, India. Narayan is counted among the top three figures in the early periods of Indian Literature in English. He finished his schooling from Christian College High School, after which he earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Maharaja College of Mysore. As a result of his immense contribution towards the field of literature, Narayan was presented with several awards, some of the notable ones being the Padma Vibhushan, the AC Benson Medal, and the Sahitya Akademi Award. Narayan was also nominated to the upper house of the Indian Parliament, which is the Rajya Sabha. He passed away on the 13th of May, 2001.

I completed reading this book which comprise mainly of short stories and found its worth beyond the price. The author deals with the day-to-day life of changing human nature, innocence and experiences gained, about the sensitive human qualities that one possess, and also the feeling of humiliation that one faces.The author tries to convey the readers about the hard realities of life.

RK Narayanan if one of the best authors I have know. But I have never read a book written by him, although I have seen malgudi days in doordarshan when I was very small I don't remember any episodes in it. The writer has the ability to take you into the streets of malgudi with his writing. Very well written and fun to read. I will recommend this book to every one. Sir R.K.Narayan stories are always great to read. During my childhood I read one of the short stories of his and then I became a fan of his stories which always had some moral in the story. Unlike normal stories I could imagine the character easily as they are related to Indian culture.
Malgudi days is such book which has a great collection of stories and morals.
Every school student must read this and learn ethics from the stories.
Anyone can write stories but only few can bring them to reality and such author is Sir R.K.Narayan. So I recommend this book guys.
I was searching through websites for the list of 10 books every Indian must have read. And one books which featured on every list was certainly Malgudi Days.
