Malice is the fourth book in Keigo Higashino’s mystery series starring Kyoichiro Kaga.

Summary of the Book

A bestselling novelist is found dead in his house, murdered just as he was planning to leave Japan forever and relocate to Vancouver. His body is discovered by his wife and his best friend, both of whom claim to have good alibis. Detective Kyoichiro Kaga takes up the case, learning that he knows the writer’s friend, Osamu Nonoguchi. They were once colleagues, both teachers at the same public school. Now, the police officer reconnects with his friend, only to discover that Osamu and the deceased were far from best friends. However, what Kaga wants to understand isn’t who killed Kunihiko Hidaka, but why. In understanding why, he will find the only clues pointing to the real culprit and the way events played out.
