    not best but good

the book is very good for theoretical section.however you may find numerical problems solved wrongly and with considerable mistakes.i would like to mention the sound theory given in the bok,but if you are looking for this book for numerical problem, then don't go for it.
for numerical aspects of production tech you should consider some other books like ghosh and mallick,or a text book of production technology by made easy.
otherwise a strong base can be formed by this book for IES and GATE.

    This is "THE" book

This is the best book that I have come across in the field of Manufacturing Processes and Technologies.

I am a professional Production Engineer and needed a book for ready reference. I possess books on Manufacturing technology written by Prof. P.N. Rao & Hazra Chowdhary. But this book is class apart.

It contains information about everything an practical mechanical engineer needs to know. Bulk of it is devoted to Manufacturing technology. But it also contains chapters on Design ...

    Indispensable book on manufacturing

The best manufacturing book one can get. All the topics are covered from basics. Great coverage on composites, plastics, material science, cnc, etc. The book takes around 10 chapters to start with manufacturing processes (starting with casting). Prior to this, all concepts are made to appreciate the later part of the text.
-Indispensable for UPSC (ESE and CSE). Read it from cover to cover.
*u can expect a great deal of objective questions in ESE (paper 2) directly from this book.
    -Great theo...
