Mcgraw-hill's Gre, 2010( Series - Mcgraw-hill's Gre (book Only) )

I purchased this GRE prep book 2 months before taking my GRE general exam, which I just took today. I wanted to post as many reviews about this book as possible to save anyone else from buying this borrible study guide. The difficulty level of the questions in this book and on the CD that came with it were no where near the difficulty of the questions on the actual GRE.

The real GRE test changes difficulty according to your personal progress through the exam. Obviously the in-text practice exams would be unable to do this but there is no reason why the questions from the more difficult end of the spectrum could not be given in the text of this book. The quantitative section in this book had no questions that remotely resembled the questions on the actual GRE (other than the standard format).

Also, the vocab in the back of the book are all SAT level words, and the vocab on the real GRE were of a much higher difficulty level then the high school level vocab this book prepared me with.

After taking the real GRE I was extremely disappointed in my purchase of this product.
