About Satish Chandra
Satish Chandra is an acclaimed author and historian. He is well known for The 18th Century in India: Its Economy and The Role of the Marathas, the Jats, the Sikhs and the Afghans, Marwar Under Jaswant Singh (1658-1678): Jodhpur Hukumat Ri Bahi, English and Persian Letters of a King-Maker of the 18th Century, The Indian Ocean: Explorations in History, Commerce and Politics, Historiography, Religion and State in Medieval India, Medieval India: Society, the Jagirdari Crisis, and the Village, and Parties and Politics at the Mughal Court 1707-1740.
Mr. Chandra is a member of the Marxist historians group and the Indian History Congress. He believes in secular treatment of our history.
