Mee Sindhutai Sapkal
This movie easily makes it to the list of the all-time great movies I have seen. An extremely powerful portrayal of Sindhutai, a housewife abandoned with her small daughter by both husband and maternal home who, even in desperate poverty, adopts street children as her own and eventually becomes a much-acclaimed internationally renowned public speaker and fearless social activist. The performances are such that they stay with you long after the movie has ended and leave you in awe of this amazing personality. Ignore the fact that this movie is in Marathi and watch even if you don't understand a word. It transcends all languages (and of course has English subtitles). Go for it!
