Mein Kampf (Paperback) Price: Rs.181

MEIN KAMPF is perhaps the only notable work written in two volumes by Adolf Hitler, in 1924. Hitler was arrested when he took out a mass demonstration in favour of national unity for the formation of a socialist German state. He was tried by the Peoples Court in Munich and subsequently, imprisoned for thirteen months where he wrote the first volume. The second volume was written after he was released.

He was highly influenced by two people, who were apparently the main architects of his mental aberration. One was Dr. Leopold Potsch, who taught him German Political History, and the other was Dr. Jorg Lanz Van Liebenfels, a defrocked monk who founded the Temple of the New Order, and whose theories stated that the world belonged to the fair skinned and the superior Aryan race, and all others belonged to sub-human culture.

Anyone interested about Hitler should read this.

This books gives an insight into the mind of one of the greatest villains of history. Hitler was born to a bourgeois family, but very early in life, he lost his parents, his dream of getting admitted to the Vienna Art School, and had to live the life of a proletariat for sometime.
At that young age he became an avid reader and from his practical experiences with the economically deprived class, he developed an understanding of the attrition of the government at that time.
He was a nationalist and sedulously nourished the notion of nationalism.
This book is really interesting as one gets to know how a little boy whose life was as normal as anybody else' grows up to be such a villain and the ideologies that dictated his atrocities.

The other Face of Hitler revealed..

All of us only know the ruthless face of Hitler, But the pain behind this ruthless face in revealed in this book.
It is a wonderful literature which has the mindset of Hitler as a child, how he wanted to take his passion for painting as a carrer and reading as a hobby.
A book worth reading.

No use being biased

One should begin to read this book without being prejudiced in any way. The author, being an autobiography of Hitler, describes what incidents and influences from his past, led to the formation of his nationalist and later radical ideas. In this book he also talks about his ideas of a career. His comments on politics, economics and arts are interesting as well.
The important and noteworthy point is this: How circumstances and contemporary economic conditions carve out a person of a particular sort out of you.
That being said, this book is definitely a good read and, if I don't sound inspired by him, there may be found certain ideas that can motivate you in a positive way too.
The only issue was the quality of the pages and the printing quality. Can't make no bones about it though, seeing to the price.
Thank you Flipkart.

A diary of a perverted genius, misguided man

Perhaps one of the most notorious autobiographies ever to be penned down Mein Kamph is an account of Hitler’s life spanning from his birth to his ascendance to power. It gives a detailed account of the historical views, the prevalent political conditions that existed during the time of First World War and the period after viewed in the lens of Hitler. The original book is in German. It is translated to English by James Murphy.

The book starts by paying homage to twelve martyrs who laid their lives for the National socialistic party. Then it tells the story of Hitler’s birth in Austria, his parents, his love for painting, the relationship between Germany and Austria. Hitler’s intense love for Germany is very evident right from the beginning. A voracious reader he was, he read many books which helped him to form opinions about the political realities of his day and the problem that his nation faced. He forms opinion that there are two evils that are vexing Germany: Marxism and Jews. He has analyzed Marxists very well in some parts but he links Marxists with Jews.

Then he explains about ‘propaganda’, how it should be carried out. There can not be any better person to explain these other than Hitler. As a die-hard racist, he concludes the highest aim of human existence is conservation of race, the Aryan-blood is the purest and the rest of the races are subordinates to the Aryans. He analyses the causes for the defeat of Germany in the WWI, understand the mass psychology of people, devices methods to appeal to them, Then he actively involves himself in politics, builds National Socialistic Party which has a new Weltanschauung (A comprehensive view of the world and human life) amidst various hardships, develops oratory skills, charismatic appeals and ascends to the party leadership position.

In this autobiographical note, Hitler has mentioned everything that he wants to do once he comes to power: the kind of allies that Germany needs to have, the kind of society he intends to build, the emphasis on racism, the need for ethnic cleansing (though the word is not spelled out), everything horrible he has done finds mention or at least have clue in this autobiography.
