Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots

For anybody on camp PlayStation, you must have heard of Metal Gear Solid (MGS). Some people praise the series like it has been the best thing to gaming, whereas the other group just considers it a bit tad too long and unnecessary. In short, this series has a very polarizing nature.
I have been a major fan of this game since I first played MGS back in 1999 on PlayStation. It bought new meaning to “story” in a video game (along with Half Life released in the same year). Newer ideas, breaking the fourth wall and a whole lot of stuff you would enjoy. In short, praise to lord Kojima
Fast forward to 2008, here we are with Kojima Production’s offering “Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots” which was at that time considered the final chapter to the series (as of 2013, 1 game has been released and 2 are scheduled, and also a rumoured one). Solid Snake is back as the protagonist.
Coming to the game, the graphics are real solid (no pun intended) for different settings, a Middle Eastern warzone, a jungle, snowy Industrial settings and a battleship.
Gameplay wise, this game introduces a few new things, as well as revives a few classic ones to provide an emotional, gripping and heartfelt nostalgia factor. The shooting aspect has been vastly improved upon. Another major improvement has been the shunning of “medical operation” (or whatever it was in MGS3, just felt too tedious). The AI has been really great as well.
A recurring theme in the series is the creative boss battle, which you would find plenty here, though not as memorable as the previous titles in the series.
Lastly, (maybe most importantly for the fans of the series), the story and cut scenes. You would find them plenty here. From back-story to deep cyberpunk themes, from conspiracy theory to reference and explanation to previous MGS (and MG) game events, and most of all, the character arc story. You might find it somewhat TOO EFFING LONG if you are not too much of a fanboy, or story person (or both).
I would strongly suggest you play ALL THE GAMES in the series before this game to get a better grip on the story (you can leave aside “Metal Gear” from 1987, and “Metal gear 2: Solid Snake” from 1990 but do read about them as they are canonical). Metal Gear Solid from 1998 is available on PC and PlayStation Network. Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is available on both PS3 and Xbox 360, so hey, you’ve got options.
For me, this gave me whatever I was expecting of this game, got me pumped as well as filled me with so much nostalgia-core (at times, I would just stand up and play because of sheer excitement). This, along with the music, filled up my heart. By the end of it (and the last battle), I felt really moved. This game was in fact one of the reasons to go for a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360, and glad it was worth it. One of the complaints I would have is that the game felt short. But, overall I am satisfied. I would give it a total 5 stars.

-Less gameplay (for fanboys)
-No “player v/s Metal Gear” fights (for fanboys, although you have a nice surprise waiting)
-Too much story (for non fanboys)
-Boring Story (for non fanboys)
-Confusing Story (for non fanboys)
-EXTREMELY LONG CUTSCENES, one going above 1 hour at a stretch (for non fanboys)

MGS4 is none other than a master piece, you will never get such a large campaign , emotional cutscenes, action setpieces, witty scenes, over the top action, and wide variety of gameplay in a single game. As you move on to the end, the game keeps getting more and more surprisingly interesting, that you wish it may never end...

The Game Got 10/10 Masterpiece Rating At IGN For Reasons And That Reason Will Be Clear When You First Start The Game,The Game Has Alot Of cutscenes that feels like a real Movie and also The Character Of The Game Is Also very Good,Overall I Give This game 5/5 at Flipkart,For Its Amazing storyline,graphics,gameplay,guns,etc.Totally Worth It !!

this game is one of my favorite game series, Metal gear is one of a kind game, it has all the elements that every stealth game needs!

if you are not much into violence? you can still tranquilize your enemies and put them to sleep, various use of Items which will surprise you through the game, all I can say about it, it is something worth buying and adding to your game library :)

Amazing game i had bought it when it was released.
One of my Favourites games. A true end to a true legend.
Playing the previous MGS prehand is obvious.
