Micromax Andro A60 (Black, with 2 GB Memory Card) Price: Rs. 4,199

The Micromax Andro A60 is a 3G phone that runs the stock Android v2.1 (Eclair) operating system. The handset offers the usual bag of Android goodies like enhanced web browsing via the Webkit browser. The Andro is powered by a 600 MHz processor and runs CPU intensive apps like Speed Forge 3D without any hassle.

The A60 from Micromax sports a 2.79-inch resistive touchscreen. The resistive touchscreen is made of 3 layers and requires you to put pressure on it to sense the area of touch. It works with any pointing devices like stylus, pen, or even nail. The use of pointing device makes the touch screen usage more accurate.

The 3.2 megapixel camera shoots fairly good snaps in daylight, with above average detail and color tone accuracy. The mobile can also record videos and allows users to directly share it on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

The A60 sports a compact streamlined chassis that allows for an ergonomic grip whilst rendering it extremely portable. Below the display are the three touch sensitive buttons, a D pad and two more buttons which can be customized for specific functions. The Micromax 3G mobile is loaded with an accelerometer for auto-orientation.

Battery and Storage

The A60 comes with 150 MB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The Micromax Andro is powered by a Li-Ion 1280 mAh battery and gives a talktime of 4 hours with 240 hours of standby.

Connectivity and Features

The Micromax A60 supports full connectivity options including 3G, A-GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The 3G handset comes with social networking widgets for Facebook, Orkut, Myspace and Twitter. Multimedia features in the A60 includes an MP3 player and a video player with streaming and recording option. Micromax has included Swype support for the Andro A60 which allows for much faster and less erroneous typing.

Problem with the Android OS not with the battery

Saw so many reviews criticizing A60 for its poor battery backup. My dad owns a Samsung Galaxy Fit (worth Rs. 10000), which also suffers from the same. I installed him task killer apps, some customization, and now his battery lasts for a complete day, given that he talks more time. Basically Android will be loaded with many apps which cause the battery to drain fast. If we turn off unnecessary apps, every thing will just be fine. For Rs. 4400, you cannot expect to have a HTC or Lumia. A60 is the best buy in the market. For Rs. 4000, you get a touch screen, Android, 600 MHz processor, 3G 7.2Mbps

Good Phone gone Bad

Customer Service is too Wrost for the micromax, I got phone and after 3 month their was a physical damage, I was gone to service centre in lajpat, delhi, india but from their several point have noted==

1. Their is no customer satisafaction

Review - Micromax A60

I bought this phone about a year back at 7k :-( It is such a crap product, and my experience with it has been so bad, that I am unable to recover the shock of having wasted money on something which is anything but a phone (its best to be used as paper-weight). Problems are galore.. poor reception, poor battery, it just shuts off without reason! And response from service center is equally pathetic. They claim to service, but with nothing done. My advice, don't by A60 or anything from Micromax. Well, unless you need an expensive paper-weight :-)

Great Phone

It's a great buy in this price range. I got it from let'sby on 12 December. In my view it's more than just value for money and better to invest in an android phone than in any phone of same price range having it's own OS. The benefit of having an android phone is infinite ways to customize and personalize your device and to get the power of Android Market by which we can have a number of useful apps (Much of them are free) to get the max out of the device.

Not all the pros and cons are listed. Only which are coming in my mind right now are here-

1. Best for first time
