Microsoft Desktop 2000 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo

This combo is great for my everyday typing needs.
Pros:
1.The USB receiver can also be stored inside the battery compartment of the keyboard(obviously the mouse has a slot for it too) so we can carry it along with either mouse or keyboard.
2.The mouse has two AA battery slots but it works fine with a single battery in either slot & it reduces weight too.
3.Look & feel of this desktop set is great & both keyboard and mouse are full sized.
4.Mouse sensitivity is amazing & it works well on all common surfaces due to the BlueTrack Technology.

Cons:
1.Keyboard is glossy on top & sides so finger marks is common like touch phones.
2.Keyboard has no physical on/off switch, but Microsoft must have implemented some sort of built-in power management.
3.The mouse wheel feels too fragile to handle, but it might be strong as one never knows.
4.The function keys (F1-F12) are very small & not grouped in fours like in standard keyboards so its a bit tricky to locate.

I would recommend it to anyone seeking a cool keyboard combo within a budget.

The keyboard is pretty good, but the mouse is totally waste by its size,weight and the uncomfortable center scroll.To click on the center scroll,it takes at least one month practice :(.
The scroll is very smooth that's why just slip the target when we click.
And feels hand pain while using this mouse.

Been there, done that.
After a million searches on Google , reading hundreds of reviews(both user & experts alike) and finally owing this piece, I am penning down this review on this very same desktop set.

Reserving goods for the last i will begin with a little flaw that I observed. Backspace & Insert are uncomfortably close to each other so will take a little time to get adjusted to.Finish on the top is glossy and a fingerprint magnate(will require atleast a fortnightly cleaning).Mouse feels a bit heavy but using one battery for the mouse will do the trick.. Rest assured, let the kudos begin... :)

Goods:
->Awesome typing experience(Responsive and tactile keys)
->Plethora of media and hot keys(Download a version of Intellitype separately to enjoy perquisites)
->Long distance coverage even with a Wifi router in the same room(no lag et al.)
->Comfortable wrist pad
->I presume gaming will be mediocre(esp. with a bulky mouse)
->128-bit encryption(No need to worry about this Rocket science, no one will sniff on ur passwords betweeen lappy n keyboard)
-> Many ppl have complained about the CAPS, NUM LEDs missing(Install Intellitype and u will get beautiful ONSCREEN notifications. Moral: No worries)

Unfortunately noticeable bads:
->Backspace and Insert too close for comfort(I am used to a larger space so erroneously clicking insert instead of backspace while typing this review)
-> Mouse more on the heavier side.

THE BEST OPTION FOR A BUDGET KEYBOARD (I had a budget of Rs.2500 and was thinking of Logitech K350 but its only a keyboard so a mouse will encompass another 900 or so for a logitech laser mouse as m187 m185 models dont support unifying receiver so u will have to go more expensive models.... :/)

So EOS: GO FOR IT if budget is less than 2000 ;)

The mouse is okay but the keyboard is erratic beyond use. Simply stops responding sometimes, then after a long time will come back with a flood of older keystrokes.

Also installs unnecessary crapware Intellipoint. One would think MS would know what they were doing with their drivers on their own OS, but no! What's more irritating they try to install everytime you plug the receiver in. No more MS keyboards for me. Back to Logitech!

Last but not least the size of the receiver is just unpardonable. KBs worth 500 bucks has mini receivers. This one is size of pen-drive, so you can't leave it plugged in if you are moving to a meeting or something!

After a Year (upgraded rating to 2 star because it works now):
The Enter Key has developed a physical defect resulting it in getting stuck sometimes. Once stuck I've have to smash it bring it out.
The Mouse is turning out to be a battery hog. Have lost count of how many times I've put in batteries in the last year!
Agree with others who find it large, but it just about works for me from the size perspective.
As long as you don't pull out the receiver dongle the driver software doesn't bug you.

Plus: Works with Windows8.

P.S. Don't use it with a Windows installation (Bootcamp) on MacBook/Pro, the (Windows 7) Drivers completely mess up Trackpad drivers provided by Apple. You'll loose double tap support and also the TrackPad control vanishes from your BootCamp settings in Windows.

First of all do not hesitate on buying this from flipkart as the delivery system is simply outstanding..You would be amazed by the packing done by the company...and now about the product:-
Mouse is a bit heavy..but could be used with a single battery..and their is an on/off switch on mouse and a low battery indicator..bluetrack technology works great it really works on any surface.

Keyboard is good have a nice grip to keys..but their is no on/off switch on keyboard although a low battery indicator is present..alongwith a place to keep the transmitter inside the battery compartment.

The wireless transmitter is about the size of a normal pen drive and if not used carefully could sabotage the whole combo and their is no separate transmitter available..although microsoft replaces the whole package in this case and provides you with new combo..Trust me i'd done it..
