I recently purchased it online from Microsoft, and it runs pretty nicely on my notebook PC, providing better performance for gaming than Home Premium or Ultimate. Everything is good, and if you buy this and want the Aero interface, just use Google, as many sites provide solutions for this. All in all, perfect!

NX,PAE,SIMD are required features for windows 8.
but windows 7 home runs excellently on my PC.

windows 7 home basic come with 1 year licence and other products OS also.
it doesn't have themes and aero and some features that are on windows 7 ultimate.
As it says it is home basic it simply super fast and secure because it genuine.
No trojans and no malware full happy.

It works great if you have a lower configuration PC. Doesnt take much HD space, and is equally smooth on my 5 yr old lappy as was XP (2 gb ram, nvidia 8400m gs). in many ways, it is definitely better than premium, esp if visuals dont matter much to u. automatically detected all the drivers, inspite of Dell not officially supporting my model for an upgrade.

The OS is user friendly as ever.
However I had a problem registering the product with Microsoft. Initially, as soon as I loaded the OS I received a message from Microsoft stating that the OS installed (i.e. purchased from flipkart) was not genuine. however within hours, autometically the OS was registered as genuine by Microsoft.

This pack only contains the 32 bit installation for Windows 7. Which means that you will be stuck with 32bit even if you upgrade.

Before you buy the product, ensure that you read up on the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 7. It is a big, irreversible, permanent difference. If you buy the wrong one, there is no changing it.

In Windows Home basic is a piece of Junk put into a box and being sold out. However, I got Windows OS pre-installed along with my DELL Laptop. Its Over-priced OS which has bundle of bugs.
