The Kinect Sensor
The Microsoft X-Box 360 Kinect Sensor is a gaming device that lets you experience motion-sense gaming without the use of any controllers. The Kinect sensor is small and thin device that looks like an over-extended webcam that can be setup on the top or bottom of your TV.The sensor is compatible with every Xbox 360 and can be easily setup using appropriate cables. The Kinect Sensor uses 3-D depth sensors to measure your body movements that let you control the elements in the game. So while playing the games with a Kinect Sensor, you are the controller.
The front of the sensor has 2 depth sensors, a RGB camera and an array of microphones. The camera is used to recognize a user while playing the game. great tech... India launch damp
The Kinect, in India, is pale shadow of the capabilities/features shown at the time of launch (video available on youtube). The motion sensor can be used only for gaming whereas in the launch video MS has exhibited some amazing out of the box features like controling movies through using voice recognition and navigating a movie using hand gestures (completely remoteless entertainment). The MS Zune too is not available in India. The membership to Xbox Live will cost you another Rs. 3500 per annum (not too high cost given the strong benefits). However, please read the fine print for Xbox Live, it online gaming may require access to very high speed internet connection (only a dream for India consumers) and downloading or streaming a movie definitiely requires high speed connection. All in all, fantastic technology for gaming despite kiddish graphics for most Kinect games and expensive games (starting around Rs. 2000 per game disc) but the most annoying part is the lack of voice recognition and other features exhibited during the E3 launch show.

Don't Buy this from Flipkart
I just received my order for xbx 360 with Kinect bundle. It arrived within one day of ordering - but the Sports 1 dvd and the Xbox live membership mentioned in the offer is not in the box. I had specifically called Flipkart customer care to ask them whether the products mentioned in the offer will be "in the box" and I wont have to go through any kind of coupon redemption hassles. The customer care person assured me that it will be part of the shipment - but now that i have received it neither the DVD nor the live membership details are in there. This is pretty shocking and this is the first and last time i am buying anything (apart from cheap books) from flipkart.

First of all thanks to Fliplkart for providing this awesome product at such a great price. You get xBox Kinect bundle here at rs 1000 less than others. Moreover with handsome discounts on all games(that you don't get at other places), it is a great place to buy the product. The service was very good, and I recieved the product in 3 business days as promised.
Kinect as a product is very good. It is like playing for real, and given that there are no controllers it is really very easy and anybody can play it. I bought Kinect Sports and Dance Central with the bundle and both are very good games. Now the evenings and specially gatherings are fun, because being so intuitive everybody wants to play. There is a very good selection of games that are available with xBox, and so I beleive the the xBox experience is only gonna get better with time! :)

Power cord on Xbox Kinect!
With a prompt delivery (as usual!) from Flipkart, I opened the Xbox 360 Kinect bundle. The power cord that comes with console is a 15 Amps one.
I don't think its a normal practice in India to have 15 Amps sockets (that we use for Refrigerators/Washing Machines) hanging around near Television Stands....
Was surprised and went online to check if this was a wrong shipment. But, no surprises... I was not the only one with the problem. Microsoft, for best known reasons, ships a 15 Amps cable along with the power adaptor for the console, and the only solution online seems to be get a 5 Amps to 15 Amps converter. I did the same too to get started.
I am not really a great gaming guy to comment on performance. This is my first gaming console. But, nevertheless, whole of the morning was fantastic with the Sports DVD. Yet to try out Adventures that comes with the bundle!

Incredible Product Amazing Service
I would really like to thanks to Flip Kart as they have delivered the product virtually in a single day. I placed the order at mid night (after 12) and the very next day the product was in my hands. I have nothing to say about Xbox, it Rocks. My four and half year daughter is has gone mad. It’s fantastic especially Kinect Device and the motion sensor games. Whole family enjoys… Once again hats off to Flip Kart for their ultimate services which can never be beaten by any company and at last to Microsoft for brining such a great product in the market.
I would highly recommend FlipKart to buy the Gadgets as well as books as i personally bought both of these.
