Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

I love watching movies on Blu-ray & delivery from Flipkart was flawless. I try & stick to only reference grade stuff. Prized possessions in my collections include: Black Hawk Down, The Hurt Locker, Saving Private Ryan, Collateral etc. I use my PS3 more as a Blu-ray player then a console! My AV system consist of a 51" Panasonic full HD Plasma TV, an Onkyo HT-R340 AV receiver & obviously PS3. HDMI goes into TV;optical wire carries audio-feed to Onkyo receiver. This is not a state-of-the art home theater system but pretty good.

Video: To me MI:Ghost Protocol ranks as one of the finest high definition transfers. The colors are not overly saturated & the hues perfect. While I don't recollect actual bit-rates, they must be really high to deliver this crisp and detailed picture. Action sequence shot in Dubai was outstanding! Skin and fabric details are nothing short of pristine! The entire disc is a sample of how to make a flick look great, and this transfer looks as true-to-life as possible. Sure there are ways of
watching HD movies on PC but nothing matches this experience.

Audio: MI:GP is brilliant from audio perspective. Fantastic soundtrack deliver stunning realism to the action exploding on screen. In opening sequence there are a few gun shots fired from a hand gun; it felt (as if) those shots were fired right in front of me! Right from the sound of the bullet to the sound of the falling metal case everything felt so surreal! Kremlin explosion literally reverberated through my couch!!! Highs are crystal clear and bass makes subwoofer perform to its limits.The audio is presented in Dolby TrueHD 7.1. If your AV receiver is supports 7.1 channels you will thoroughly enjoy this Blu-ray.

All is all an excellent Blu-ray reproduction & worth buying if you appreciate finer things in life.

A lot has been said about this movie. It has plenty of heart-pounding action sequences & the technology shown is ground breaking. Needless to say its the best movie in the series. Now, moving on to the DVD. This DVD is worth every penny spent on it. This is a single disc edition kept in a plastic case packed in a slip cover. The makers should have come up with a separate disc with all the special features. But never regret bcoz as soon as you insert the disc in your DVD player it'll be one of your best experiences in home cinema.

VIDEO- The video quality is awesome. The transfer is stunning and the visuals look detailed and crisp. This is a visual treat. My home theater upscales the resolution to 1080p which is why the movie looks even more beautiful.

AUDIO- The audio scores really high. The 5.1 Dolby Digital mix is simply mind-blowing. The surround speakers are active throughout. The bass is rich and the disc offers crystal clear sound to the center & the front speakers. This movie has plenty of action scenes and the awesome audio enriches the experience. Protect your belongings and warn your neighbours before playing this one.

SPECIAL FEATURES- Quite sadly there isn't a separate disc for the features (that's why it loses a star in the rating). But the movie disc itself contains the following features:
1.Impossible missions: The sandstorm brought to life and the secret behind the gadgets.
2.Deleted scenes.
Short and few these features are quite entertaining.

This DVD has good repeat watch value and is a great addition to my collection. Its a must-have.

Brad Bird (Incredibles), does an admirable job in creating an almost live action spy family with Tom Cruise as the senior mentor in the group, infusing some fresh legs into this franchise.

The pacing of the movie is breathtaking and so are the action sequences. For once, the plot is fairly simple and one also feels that there is actually no wastage of a good actor in a villanous role (which happened in Mi3).

The Bluray transfer is outstanding. One only wishes the Burj and some other sequences which were shot in IMAX were presented in the 1:78:1 aspect ratio on the bluray (like The Dark Knight), which would have definitely enhanced those scenes.

Overall - a Welcome addition to my collection.

This movie is AWESOME..! the disk contains special features which is impeccable. The flipkart service was EPIC. got it delivered in 2 days... If you go my way, buy it without blinking your eye.
This disk come in a slip cover. FLIPKART ROCKS..!!
