My LG DVD Player died. I bought this player because I knew DVD players will be faded out soon and blu ray players will rule the market. So I was looking for cheaper dvd players which would last for at least 2 years so that after 2-3 years blu ray discs are readily available at cheap rates (as DVDs are available today) and then I can own a good blu ray player at much cheaper price as compared to today.
I am very much satisfied with the performance of the DVD player.
Pros:
1) Cheap and very affordable – value for money
2) Video output is fairly good while playing DVDs (comparable to any high end Philips, Sony or LG player)
3) Sound effect is impressive. I attached it to my 5.1 home theater and few settings changes in DOLBY, EQ and Reverb effects. It works great (better than my previous LG DVD player)
4) Plays AVI files through usb flawlessly and quickly.
Cons
1) Looks are not classy (but OK for a player at this price)
2) Does not play mkv format
3) OSD is not very elegant
Overall a great product at this price
This is a fine DVD player for the price. The only complaint I have is with the Menu - which has quite a few quirks:
(1) The default playing mode is with the "time played" display in the corner of the screen. Quite unnecessary, since this is also displayed on the LCD screen on the player itself. So I have to turn this option off everytime I play a DVD. A pain i nthe ass.
(2) Spelling errors. "Waitting" is not how you spell it, Mitashi software engineers!
(3) The Hindi menu leaves much to be desired - the font is just WAY too tiny to read!
(4) The manual or the menu leaves you with NO clue as to how to operate the CD ripping feature. I had to call the service center to find out. You have to press the "subtitle" button on the remote when an audio CD is in the tray to access the CD ripping menu.
(5) Once or twice, the DVD tray has randomly popped out when playing a file from a USD drive.
i got it in 4 days and the packaging was gud as always, now about the product.
It plays avi, mp3, jpg etc ant also subtitels. 5.1 audio output, evrything you need in a dvd players.
But the build quality is not that good and got a problem of no sound in just three days of use............
I needed a way to watch movies/tv shows from my laptop on the TV and the only thing I could think of was to get a player with a USB port. It's affordable and does the job. It doesn't look TOO bad either.
