    Flipkart official Review

Mom-Lit is the new genre in literature and fiction. May be it is much needed in times such as these, where parenting issues are totally new and not what they used to be. Kausalya Saptarishi tackles motherhood in a light vein in her debut, “Mom in the City” and does a good job of it.

The story is centred on Ira who has recently moved to Delhi and enrols her son Abhi at Bumblebees, a posh playschool. This is where her troubles begin – she tries to keep up with the other women and at the same time, wants to keep her integrity intact. The result is a laugh-out-loud take on parenting and at the same time, touches on relevant issues.

The writing is engaging and Kausalya knows how to keep the reader turning the pages. A good read if you are a parent and also if you aren’t.

Mom In the City is a contemporary stimulating and witty story about a single mom who enrolls her son in a posh play school and instead finds herself struggling with the changes around her.

    Summary of the Book

Mom in The City is the story of a single working mother, Ira. She enrolls her son in a posh play school in Delhi, but little does she know what is in store for her. The other mothers she interacts with are completely different compared to her. They are all perfectly groomed fashionistas, who throw lavish birthday bashes for their children, chill at trendy coffee shops, and holiday in the most exotic of locales. In her desperate attempt to befriend them and be a part of their social circle, Ira ends up lying about her marriage. What happens next will take the readers by surprise. Will Ira be able to fit in?

    A lovely breezy read!

For me, it was a wonderful engrossing read that encloses a great insight. The book is beautifully written. The characters and setting are brilliantly defined. I liked the light touch of humour and romance.

I strongly recommend this to every woman reader and I think it's a must read for mothers who like to read!

    Avreage Read

Frankly, it was quite filmy and predictable for me.
I actually got bored of it after finishing the first half.

Though loved the character of the little boy in the book, I could possibly picture him whenever there were his dialogues in the book. Otherwise it was very boring.
