The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is an interesting book, which is penned down by Robin Sharma. The book makes you delve deeper into yourself and think about your life from a different perspective. It educates you about how your daily habits can help you reach your dreams.

The book sets you off on the fabled journey of Julian Mantle, who is a high-profile attorney with a buzzing schedule and a number of priorities that are centered on power, money and prestige. General Reception and Other Adaptations

The book was an international bestseller all over the world. The message in the book might have been termed as a trifle cliche, but the way Robin Sharma has presented the story is extremely enlightening and interesting. It makes for a good read and throws up snippets about the oriental way of life.

Statutory warning : Do not overwhelm your life !

First the facts :

- It gives you a clear insight into what you should focus on. i.e. not money but your passion and your life. GOOD.
- It is an extremely popular book and will anyway sell. AGREED.

Now, My opinion :

I read this book around 2-3 years back. I was thrilled by the beauty of the "revelations" it suggested. I tried doing what the book suggested. The garden, the lighthouse, the sumo wrestler, the pink wire cable, the stopwatch, the roses and the winding path of diamonds - the seven timeless virtues, which will give you an enlightened life.

I agree with the points... but after reading a lot of such self management books, I kind of realize that all these self management books help only to an extent. Knowing these things does help. Definitely. But applying them all, in your day to day life is not really a practical thing to do. It looks very artificial. At least it did for me.

So read this books and apply only things that you really value and you'll do much much better. Do not try to follow all the advices to the T. Just accept what you believe in and leave the rest.

Then and only then, in my opinion, reading this book makes any sense.

Wish you guys a wonderful life ahead.

- Shyam

The Monk Who Mortgaged HiS Ferrari

Excellent book truly. After reading this story you realize how people all over have taken so much debt to live a life of falsehood and show. After reading this book I am reminded of the story of the Monk Who Mortgaged His Ferrari from Cash The Crash by Chabria. What we learn is that health, wealth are important, but mean nothing without happiness.

This book is surely a must read!

This could be the best advice you'll ever receive from one book

Enormous amount of wisdom is covered here. I finished this thinking that this is one of the best books I've ever read on how to live in this world. I was shocked at the amount of principles covered in this story. I just wasn't expecting what I got from this.

I read a few reviews where people were criticizing the story. I thought the story was good, with a few weak spots. But the story isn't the main point, it was just the vehicle to deliver the goods.

I loved this book! This is one that I think can definately make a difference in your life. The thing about books like this is, usually people read it once, decide that there is something to it and maybe even make a few changes in their life and a little while later they slide right back into living the way they always have. Reread it, absorb it, and make lasting changes

Fable to improve "Standard of Life"

My expedition to "THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI" by Robin Sharma, more than a reading book is looking inside of the self. I, regret for not reading in past even though brought it long back, in fact left in the middle. It is always better late than never. People in this age are striving hard day and night to improve the “standard of living”, which is subjected with materialistic need and gives short-lived joy. This book acquaints you with the whole-host of the techniques existing form the ages to improve “standard of life” which originates from the self and gives everlasting happiness. Reading this book, chapter-by-chapter is nothing but uncovering the self layer-by-layer and finally reaching to the nucleus of the self. Believe me, it does not tell you to sell your FERRARI/AUDI/BMW/HONDA CITY/blllaaa-blllaaa, but definitely tells you how to live with long lasting joy in this materialistic world……….Cheers.
