More Antique Quilting Designs

A selection of historical quilts has inspired a second collection by the author of floral quilting patterns suitable for classic or contemporary quiltmaking. The pieced Triple Irish Chain and Carolina Lily applique quilts - with their plain alternate blocks - were the perfect source for the large block motifsin this series. The curvy stems, feathers, and folk-art flowers are all unique in shape, meant to fit into the 'nook-and-cranny' formed between applique and piecing. A true sampler of patterns, lovingly traced directly from pre-Civil War quilts, graces this book. These were shared between quilters in an era before commercially printed patterns were available. Some of these patterns are published for the first time in this collection. Each is redrafted and drawn accurately to today's use. Full-sized, authentic, antique quilting designs are made available for quilters of reproduction quilts as well as for historians documenting designs.
