A Book You Must Read... Review by Victor AkinrinmadeMounting the Clouds, a luminous new collection of poem, reflects appreciantion of everyday pleasures: a ''smile'' from the sun, the source of joy on a particular day, tthe rainbow that shows one's ''beauty from head to toe,'' some precious time spent at the beach, or flowers that ''glow and glow of joy.''
The poet has collected some of his most passionate, moving, and resonant work. ''It Hurts to Be Alone'' conveys that one can often ''stay with boredom all day through, feeling at times like a card, a stick, a comic, a fool!'' The lines of ''Give Me a Break'' focus on need: ''How need brings pain; how need brings joy.'' In ''Oh My Rain,'' the poet reflects, ''I can see light; I can see love; but please take your time.''
Poetry lovers will find a treasure in this collection of verse. ''Mounting the Clouds'' brings together jewels that can be read and reread for years to come.
Below are three poems from ''Mounting the Clouds'':
1. The Battle Is Fought and Won
Each life is a battle
I know;
each day is a
victory to make.
Each day is a history
of life;
and life is a story
to tell.
My life we will
but smile,
and look at
the bright side
of the coin,
the battle is fought
and won.
Regardless of how
much we fall,
I know we will
make the top.
Tonight a history
is made;
a good character
is unfold.
One day we will
unfold our ways
and review the
history we made.
2. Endurance
My peace should know that
love so cares even though
the parts seems blocked.
As you can see my loving
peace,
the gap is wide, the thought
is gone,
but she makes the way where
no way is.
Under the canon we both are,
you and me,
we both are, like leaves
so sweet, we both are
if we continue to wait on
her.
Remember the day will come
when I would be on the
busy road,
the voice of yours so dear
and nice will call me so
on the busy road.
Endurance is no failure dear;
I know the day I will see
you,
the joy will have no
bound.
Ending the funny route,
how nice is it, the joy is come,
the dreams are true, our
waiting for years is not in
vain.
Love gave my peace to me
in time when all hope was
gone.
3. Time Can Wait
The silent touch
of time my
joy;
will come to us
because we
wait.
As the wonders
live with
time my joy;
so the hope it
brings will live
for us.
I've seen hope
for us my
joy;
and what she
said is time
can wait.
It builds with
time,
it builds with
joy,
and peace comes
too
with time my
dear.
The silent touch
of time can wait,
and waiting dear,
our hope will
come.
Inspiration For Writing Is All Around Us Review by The Midwest Book ReviewThe writer's block phenomena that can afflict any author or poet is said to stem from the lack inspiration and a failure of imagination on the part of the writer. ''Mounting the Clouds'' is Victor Akinrinmade's call that inspiration for writing is all around us. He demonstrates this fact with a diverse catalogue of poetry displaying inspiration from the little things in life. The sun, rainbows, and life itself. A warm and inspiring collection of verse, ''Mounting the Clouds'' is a must for poetry fans.. and anyone who has ever suffered from a temporary lack of ideas for their own writing. ''You Must Meet Her'': She writes with a/golden ink,/a pen like a/crystal sea.//Have you met her?//Have you seen her?//The rock my soul/but loves?//She shines like a/glowing sun;/a heart like a/blending love;/oh, yes, you must/but meet her/soon.//But think, my joy,/but think;/you must meet her,/my dear.
