Nieca Grant is an Arts lover who writes devotional, inspirational and children's poetry and prose pieces. For pleasure, she enjoys "putting to practice' those writing techniques that she shared with her students during her stint as an Overseas English teacher and as a private and public classroom teacher here in the United States. Ms. Grant grew up in the Eden Park area and was educated at Scott Street Elementary, Greenville Elementary, Capitol Jr., Sr. High School and Southern University, Baton Rouge, La. She did further study beyond her M. Ed at the University of Wyoming, Brigham Young University, Laie, Hawaii and Michigan State University, Lansing, Michigan. She works very closely with her illustrator daughter, Alicia R. Matthews in producing poetry and prose pieces. In her spare time, Ms. Grant follows the literary and music world. She holds a M. Ed plus forty in Education. She lives in Baker, La.
