The Mystery of the Blue Train (Paperback) Price: Rs.159

The Mystery of the Blue Train is one of Agatha Christie’s detective fiction novels.

Summary Of The Book

This is the story of an American heiress, Ruth Kettering, whose father gifts her a set of precious rubies. In spite of his warnings to keep them in a safe place, Ruth takes the jewels with her on the Blue Train on her journey to Nice. Ruth is breaking free from an unhappy marriage to meet her lover. Hercule Poirot, the detective, and Katherine Grey, a young English woman, are also travelling in the same train as Ruth. Katherine had recently inherited a huge amount. She meets Ruth aboard. The next morning, Ruth's dead body is found in her compartment. She has been strangled to death. The case containing the precious rubies has disappeared. Hercule Poirot assures Ruth's father that he would help him in solving the crime and in identifying the killer.

Poirot has to find out if the jewel theft and the murder are related. A dancer who travelled in the same train testifies that she saw a man leave her compartment around the time of the murder. Ruth's maid also says she saw an unidentified man in Ruth's compartment. A suspect is identified and arrested, but Poirot is still not convinced that he has the right man. He continues with the investigation. He asks Ruth's father and his secretary to travel with him on the Blue Train and tries to recreate the crime scene.

Great Story, Poor paper quality.

The story is very good. But this specific edition of book by HarperCollins for sale in India has very poor paper quality, thin brown paper. You don't need light at the back of the paper to see whats printed backside, it visible naturally as its that thin. Though I enjoyed the book story wise, sometimes when there was even a fint light in the back it became a great eye strain to read.

A Comic Book

I overlooked the graphic novel part, so after receiving the book it was quite a shock.... But anyway the book is great the quality of the art is very good and it is good to see the story of Agatha Christie come to live. The quality of the papers are very good and the book is imported....i think so. If you ask me I will say go for it cause it is nice to have one or two graphic versions of Agatha Christie's classics... and the price is not so high as compared to tintin and asterix...

Great read

The book is a beautiful read. There is not doubt that she has a Shakespearen form of writing.Apart from this, "Murderer on the Orient Express" is a must read too.

To flipkart, please update the birth details of Ahatha Christie to Sep 15, 1890.

Excellent story

Its a good book by agatha christie but the introduction is too boring. I almsot felt like throwing it away when Poirot made a stunning entry. But one with less patience will certainly throw the book. Needs a more thrilling Beginning.

A good one from Agatha Christie

After reading two of her books and one movie based on her novel now I can understand why she is most published author ever. A good thriller, remains unpredictable till the end. Read it if you love suspense, crime, thriller novels.
