Mystery On The Prairie

The little North Dakota town of Buffalo Butte has settled back into quiet normalcy after several murders the previous year. The big topic of conversation becomes, as usual, the weather. Then Sara Allen makes a dramatic entrance into the towns life. At first, Buffalo Butte residents and sometime sleuths Janet Peterson and Marjolene Johnson find her easy to be friends with, and Sara hits it off with Janets Shakespeare-quoting brother. But questions soon arise. Is she what she seems? Where did she really come from? Who is Luke Wright, and why is he pursuing Sara? Who and where is the mysterious Dwayne Rickerson? It turns out that Buffalo Butte is rife with secrets, and at least one of them is deadly. Janet finds herself in jeopardy. And through it all, less deadly but still perplexing, is Janets relationship with the police chief Axell Anderson.
