Good quality zoom lens from the house of Nikon.. at this price point u can't complain.. i would prefer this lens over the tamron 150-600mm and sigma 150-600.. but u can get this a bit cheaper in retail store..

Great lens for the price, slightly better low light capabilities than my previous lens due to wider aperture. Colors, too, came out properly in different lighting.
The drawback is that it's pretty heavy, which I was informed and felt only after carrying it the entire day. That may impact accurate focusing by the end of the day since the arms get tired.

A:Yes. it's compatible and only AF mode will work. But, this lens is bit lengthy and weighs 2.3 kg with tripod collar. Comparing the size of the D3500, it'll be bit tough to use.
