The little flash that could!
Firstly, thanks to Flipkart for the very prompt delivery. Got it in two days. Wow!
Now to the product itself.
Buy this flash if you fit the following:
1) You own a Nikon DSLR :-)
2) You are a serious amateur in photography
3) You don't like that "ghost" look created by the on-camera flash
4) You feel that the distance covered by the on-camera flash is not enough
5) You would give your right arm for the ability to bounce the flash
6) You don't want to look like a professional wedding photographer
Do not buy this flash if you fit the following:
1) You don't own a Nikon DSLR :-)
2) You work in a studio environment
3) You want long distance coverage with your flash
4) You want to bounce flash off the ceiling when in portrait mode
5) You are a wedding photographer or want to look like one
This little flash performs much better than the puny on-camera flash. I have a Nikon D90 and was always producing terrible looking images when I shoot with the on-camera flash, mainly because I couldn't bounce the flash. So I bought this little beauty and now I produce some amazing pictures simply by bouncing the flash.
Right, you got my drift. If the main reason you want an external flash is to be able to bounce it, then this one is for you. The only limitation is that it can't swivel so when in portrait mode, you will be able to only bounce off the wall.
Otherwise, good value for money and you will enjoy flash photography again.

You just can't go wrong with this guy
If you are reading this, then it means you are someone who is looking to break away from the built-in flash that came with your d3100/5100/90 etc. and want to explore the bounce flash. Don't think much, just get it, you won't regret it. I got it mainly to shoot in bounce flash mode indoors for family functions etc.and it has done its job amazingly well. I'm in LOVE with this little guy.
You have to get this mainly to use in the bounce flash mode, not not fire it in your subjects face like the built-in flash. Its no good that way. The difference with bounce flash(ceiling/wall) will make your jaw drop and make you wonder why you didn't buy this piece of magic before.And it is so small and easy to use.
Only problem I have with it is that its head will only swivel up and down not side-ways, so you can't bounce it off the ceiling in a vertical frame.So your only option in that case is to bounce it off the side wall.
But nevertheless , its a highly recommended product.

A must have for any amateur or photography hobbyist
I purchased this Flash gun hoping it would provide sufficient light to light up my little daughters energetic antics. Using the inbuilt flash on the camera only caused her to close her eyes everytime forcing me to use large apertures and slow shutter speeds which needless to say are not the best for action photography. This Flash gun worked wonders. I now have the ability to bounce light of the cieling ensuring that she carries on being herself and providing me with beautiful portraits. Amazing product for the price. It uses 2 AA batteries which last for ages. Amazing just amazing. Happy buyer. Recommended.
Excellent Value
This is a great replacement flash for the standard pop up on your camera.
It flips up 70/80/90 degrees so you can bounce the light off the ceiling and the photos look a lot more natural.
Its quite cheap, very light and lasts a long time on only 2 AA batteries.
I got it today and have clicked about a hundred shots so far. Its an amazing improvement over the built in flash.
Definitely a must buy Speedlight for anyone with a DSLR.

Nikon Speedlight SB400
The product was first lost in transit, untraceable on the bluedart site, and after emailing to Flipkart, I got to know the product was 'returned' to their warehouse. Not really a fault of Flipkart, but they need a better courier service.
After reporting the incident, however, Flipkart service was superfast. The product was delivered within three calendar days (not working days, but calendar days!), the courier landed at my house on a Sunday. So that was really efficient.
The product itself is excellent. The flash unit is a perfect companion for my D40, and the bounce has improved the photos by a large margin.
