Nissin Di622 MARK II (For Nikon) Flash

Been a couple of days since I bought it based on a lot of excellent reviews that I read in several forums. So far it has proven great on and off the camera with powerful lighting capabilities and funky manual controls. The bounce flash feels really good and I was able to get some excellent portraits in bad light with minimal configuration. The lack of an LCD display feels more like a boon than a miss because it helps you access the functions faster without going through several menus. Now to try out some off camera stuff, perhaps macro... :)

A must have first flash for all amateurs and hobbyists alike.

The main reason for me to buy this external flash unit was that it supported wireless slave mode which could be triggered remotely by the on camera flash.

The flash performs as mentioned in the specification and is quite useful as bounce and off camera flash.

The only drawbacks I could see at this moment are that the recharge cycle (although I am yet to use with powerful batteries) is quite apparent and the battery compartment door is low build quality and one has to be careful while handling it. Also the battery compartment does not have any partition so one might have some trouble while inserting the batteries.

Flipkart delivery and packaging was as always good.

This is an excellent flash and a very good (and cheaper) alternative to Nikon SB-600. It is a perfect companion to my Nikon D5000.

I would recommend this flash to any DSLR owner.

The flash head can be turned in all 4 directions (up-down and left-right). This allows the flash to be used creatively. Straight on flash is not recommended in all scenarios. Bounching light off ceiling, walls, etc will result in much better and natural looking pictures. So, a flash with tilt and swivel head (like this one) is helpful.

Please do read reviews of this Di622 Mark II on the internet for detailed information. It is one of the best flashes available at this price point.

I had ordered this product for Nikon on 10/Sept/2012 and expected delivery date was 17/Sept/2012 but due to flight cancellation it arrived at 19/Sept/2012 which was still good,atfirst I put on new Nimh batteries and it didnt start up,I thought it was a defective piece I got,however after charging the battery fully it worked absolutely fine.I tested the flash with a Nikon D7000 and its really a good flashgun for the money spent..I recommend this flash for Amateur photographer and enthusiast on a tight budget..and I appreciate the swift service provided by Flipkart.

Just recently purchased the flash, looking for something comparable to the SB-600 which was too costly for my amateur photographers budget. I had recently read about Nissin in Smart photography and was delighted to see them at Flipkart. Delighted with this product, just perfect to match my D90 and 28-70mm lens for snaps of friends and family at parties. Works perfectly with 2500mh AA batteries.
